Glad to see Pranjala back on ITF events.
The email addresses of tournament directors is available on tournament page of ITF, can someone reach out to them and see if they will provide a basic YouTube stream.

I am a bit worried about Pune ITF. Maharashtra covid cases are increasing now. If another lockdown happens, it may become difficult to host this.

Surprised not to see Karman on any of these lists. Why must all of our promising young players get injured?

Pranjala should reach the latter end of the $25K tournament, based on her form in the Australian UTR circuit. I think she has finally decided (or allowed?) to leave the continent?

Khromacheva is a dark horse here, who was ranked in the top-100 four years ago.

Main draw action only starts tomorrow (2nd March). There are 3 rounds of qualifying, of which one was completed yesterday. Q2 happening today, and possibly Q3 as well.
There will be 6 qualifying slots. The top seed (Emma Von Poppel of the Netherlands) got a Q1 bye. The second seed is Aditi Sinha of the US, and the next four seeds are Indians. The top 6 seeds are all playing their Q2 matches today.

Sharmada Balu and Rishika Sunkara are making a comeback here. Sharmada played her last match in 2016 while Rishika last played in 2018. They are trying to come thru qualifying.

Yes, the order of play shows Q2 and Q3 for today. Lots of double bagels in Q2 -- 3 so far with Nidhi Chilumula, Sai Samhitha and Akanksha Nitture winning in this fashion over clearly over-matched Indian players.

They were decent players. Any idea as to why they quit playing tennis?

No idea. Maybe injuries. Yes, they were quite decent players. They have earned their thread on sports-india forum after all. :D

So with the two non-Indian players losing in Q2, all qualifiers will be Indian.

Following are the 6 Indian qualfiers -

18 year Smriti Bhasin ( beat Bela Tamhankar who had upset top seed in Q2)
18 year old Farhar Aleen Qamar
17 year old Akanksha Nitture ( who upset third seed Snehal Mane in Q3)
Nidhi Chilumula
Sai Samitha Chamarthi
Sharmada Balu

Last 3 are all seasoned players who have played few years on the circuit.
So, we will have as many 25 Indian in the main draw of 32.

Great to see some of these seasoned Indian players coming back and qualifying. Kinda disappointed not to see Kyra Shroff in here even though she has been training all the time in Spain hinting on a comeback.
