PKB, what about complete final score?
Tough loss but this was expected due to their change of playing partners so less chemistry on the court.
At $7M BNP Paribas WTA Finals, Singapore
[SF] (2) Sania Mirza (IND)/ Martina Hingis (SUI) l (4) Ekaterina Makarova (RUS)/ Elena Vesnina (RUS) 63 26 6-10

Re: Sania Mirza Tournaments - 2016
Martina's serve and forehand are significant weaknesses now, and the opponents have learnt to attack her forehand, especially when she is serving. So it was not just the lack of coordination but also specific weaknesses in Martina's game that weakened the pairing. I can see why they have chosen to break up.

Sad. The association with Hinging was the best phase of Sania ' s career. Don't know if she would get such a partner again.

Yes, Vesnina / Makarova (the Olympic gold medallists) winning the WTA Finals doubles title enabled Sania to remain #1, which means she was #1 in women's doubles for every single week of 2016.
