Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Congratulations to Anirban Lahiri on an excellent surge to the top on the final day. He had a great first and last round, which won him the title, and enabled him to narrow the gap with Lipsky atop the APGA Order of Merit race. Here is the rediff report:

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Anirban has been very consistent on the Asian level for a while now but is still to make the step-up to be consistent at the European or PGA level (as Jeev was in his best years).
Of course, there are a lot more ranking points for the Asian Tour these days.

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Looks like 18 year old Subhankar Sharma and Atjun Atwal's nephew, Pratap Atwal are the future of Indian golf. What is your take on them, prajgolf?

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Rahil manages to hang on to the lead, just by a shot.
In the last group, Rahil has 18 year old Shubhankar Sharma for company along with Siddikur from Bangladesh.
Top 9 players are separated by 3 shots. Anyone in the top 9 can play well and win tomorrow.
We have 4 Indians in the Top 10 and hope the home advantage helps one of them to land the trophy. to all 4....

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Shubhankar Sharma has been a consistent performer at the PGT of India and this year he is 5th in the PGTI Order of Merit.
He is also a regular at the Asian Development Tour, however outside India his progress has been bit slow. Considering his is just 18, indeed he would be an exciting Indian golf prospect to watch out for in the near future.
Regarding Pratap Atwal, he is an amateur golfer and i do not follow much of the amateur golf, all i know about Pratap is that he is the winner of 2013 All India Amateur Golf Championship.
I hope that he turns pro soon and follows the footsteps of his uncle Arjun.
The other players to watch for in future will be Chikka S, Khalin Joshi and Udayan Mane.

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Thanks for the info. I read that Pratap plans to turn pro at the end of this year.prajgolf wrote: Regarding Pratap Atwal, he is an amateur golfer and i do not follow much of the amateur golf, all i know about Pratap is that he is the winner of 2013 All India Amateur Golf Championship.

Re: 2014 Asian Tour
Consistency is something which is missing amongst the Indian player's. We have had so many players in the recent years who have just faded away. Till few years back, Gaganjeet and Shiv were considered as exciting talent however they have been unable to make a mark in the recent years. Then our big two, Jeev and Arjun have unfortunately also been unable to rise up to the occasion. I just hope Anirban is not one of them and is able to maintain the consistency for few year's atleast. Best of luck to him for the European Tour qualifiers.
