Boy, that $900K is silly money for someone that was in the bottom half of the field. Good for him!

Anirban Lahiri has qualified for second major tournament of the year, the PGA Championship.
PGA Championship have not debarred LIV Golf players.

Anirban seems to be enjoying himself on the LIV Golf tour, with 2nd and 19th-place finishes in the past two weeks.
Do LIV tournaments count towards world rankings? I'm pleasantly surprised that he will play the PGA Championships.

Well played Anirban over the last 2 weeks.
Good decision to play the Asian Tour event @ Vietnam couple of weeks ago.
His 2nd place finish helped remain in top 100, which got him the invite to the PGA Championship.
No world rankings points for LIVgolf events.
Hope his good form stays till the Major in 3 weeks time.

^^^ $350,000 for that? I continue to be amazed at all the money they make on the Golf tour. Hardly anybody even knows who Anirban Lahiri is, in India. But he probably makes most money among sportsmen, outside of the cricketers.
His lifetime price money earnings are about $10 million. Holy crap.

That is not much if we factor that $8 million came from Liv Tour which he started this year: https://www.nationalclubgolfer.com/news ... er-earned/jayakris wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 2:18 pm His lifetime price money earnings are about $10 million. Holy crap.
So only $2 million from all his efforts in his career so far. When you compare with the lifestyle he has to maintain as a Golfer.

Re: Anirban Lahiri - PB WR #33 (28-Mar-15), India #1
^^^The above is factually incorrect. Anirban has won close to 9 mm on the PGA tour. He has won over 8 mm at the LIV tour where he may have also got a signing bonus. He’s also won a few events on the European and Asian tours, so his career earnings across all tours is well north of 20mm.

I think Arjun is correct. I was reporting only what Google brought up, which I think did not include LIV. It is actually close to 20 million. Even more amazing, isn't it? He minted money from Golf.

Re: Anirban Lahiri - PB WR #33 (28-Mar-15), India #1
Looks like his European tour career earnings is $2.8 MM (actually around 2.5 MM Euros) and his Asian tour career earnings is a little over $3 MM. Even if there is some double counting (co-sanctioned events), it's safe to say his career earnings are well over $20 MM. Plus he's won some money on the Indian tour.
[Just checked his PGTI career earnings is a little over 2 crores, so another $250K or so).

It is an obscene amount of money made by a guy that not even 10 people buy tickets to see play golf at any of those events abroad. Neither has he sold even $10K worth of products for the companies sponsoring those events. I can't wrap my head around this at all.
