Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Only reasons may be injury or fatigue. I see he skipped Phoenix which I think was a good decision.
Anyway, let's hope he gets a good draw this time.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
But on X he mentioned "miami next" four days ago. No reason for him to skip and I don't see any intention from his side.
BTW he is also added to the TOPS list. So hopefully with doing well in many tournaments and being added to TOPS now his financial woes would be over now for some time atleast.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Yes, taking appropriate rest is quite important for his grinding style of play. Skipping a $175K challenger for a $8MM Masters event seems like a logical decision to me.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Good luck to Sumit for this match and he has a decent draw. Not sure how well he can play against top players on hard courts, but if he is in form, this is a winnable match for him.

He won in straight sets.

Next,

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
For the past few weeks I have been "benchmarking" Sumit with Nardi. They were both around the same rank during the India challengers, and Sumit beat Nardi there, and then Nardi pulled off a major one by beating the GOAT.
Sumit is ahead by a few spots so it will be interesting to see how things go for the rest of the year. Nardi does have the age advantage but Sumit is still in his peak years.
