Gaurav Ghei has come to the field in the last group along with Adam BLYTH, and thus starts the last leg to decided the winner. Ghei is gunning for his 3rd title in Asian tour and the first title by Indians this year. Best of luck Gaurav. Go Ghei!

At the start 4 players were tied at -11. The leaderboard for the top 10 players at the end of 3rd rounds was

POS  STARTED   NAME  NAT.  R1 R2 R3 R4  TO PAR  HOLE/(AGG)
1 3   Gaurav GHEI           65 72 68    -11 (205)
1 5   Adam BLYTH            70 68 67    -11 (205)
1 1   Panuwat MUENLEK       66 70 69    -11 (205)
1 3   Scott STRANGE         69 68 68    -11 (205)
5 18  Anthony KANG          69 72 65    -10 (206)
6 13  Thaworn WIRATCHANT    72 68 67     -9 (207)
7 9   LIANG Wen-chong       70 69 69     -8 (208)
8 30  Angelo QUE            70 72 67     -7 (209)
8 1   Chapchai NIRAT        69 67 73     -7 (209)

The winner will be quiet likely from these players. Panuwat has thrown the early challenge with a birdie on first hole to take the lead at -12.

The contestis on as Ghei and Blyth open their round with a par. Panuwat bogeys the par 5 2nd hole to fall back at -11. Scott, who bogeyed the first hole is now one behind, but Anthony Kang enters the leaders gang with a birdie on 2nd hole.

Kang falls back with bogey on 3rd, Angelo Que with his 3rd birdie on 5th hole joins the the pack chasing the leaders at -10. Ghei and Blyth play at par on 2nd. Three leaders at -11 (Gaurav Ghei -GG,  Adam BLYTH -AB, Panuwat MUENLEK -PM)
And 4 chasers (SS,AK,AQ,TW) are at -10. The next lot of players are at -7.

SS moves back to the leaders circle withh a birdie on 5th. GG, PM and AB remains EVEN for the round with few more pars. Ghei has now played 4 holes. But the real change came in the chasers group, SS joining on top while AK,AQ,TW falling to -9.

Gaurav Ghei (-12) takes the sole lead for the first time today as he birdies the par 4 5th hole :D. No more change in the leaderboard. Ghei moves to the dangerous par 3 6th hole where lot of double bogeys have been scored so far.

GG and AB safely negotiates par 3 6th. While a chaser emerges at -10 with TW rebounding with a birdie on 7th after a double bogey on 6th.

GG (-13) birdies par 5 8th to open a 2 shot lead. :D TW rejoins the gang  (SS, PM, AB) at -11. Current leaderboard at top

POS  STARTED NAME         R1 R2 R3 R4  TO PAR  HOLE/(AGG)
1 1  Gaurav GHEI           65 72 68 -2 -13 8
2 6  Thaworn WIRATCHANT    72 68 67 -2 -11 9
2 1  Scott STRANGE         69 68 68  E -11 9
2 1  Panuwat MUENLEK       66 70 69  E -11 9
2 1  Adam BLYTH            70 68 67  E -11 8

AB drops a stroke while GG pars as they both make the turn for the back nine

TW is on fire as he moves to sole 2nd at -12 with a birdie on 11th. TW has so far 5 birdies and a double bogey in 11 holes. GG pars 10th.

PM drops to -9 with 2 bogeys, GG pars 11th and 12th. The leaderboard is finally more spread out now.

POS  STARTED   NAME        R1 R2 R3 R4  TO PAR  HOLE/(AGG)
1 1  Gaurav GHEI           65 72 68 -2 -13 12
2 6  Thaworn WIRATCHANT    72 68 67 -3 -12 13
3 1  Scott STRANGE         69 68 68  E -11 12
4 8  Chapchai NIRAT        69 67 73 -3 -10 15
4 1  Adam BLYTH            70 68 67 +1 -10 12

SS joins TW at -12 with a birdie on par 5 13th. GG needs a birdie too at 13th to cushion his lead.

Yes!!!! GG gets his birdie to move to -14 with a lead of 2 over SS and TW :D GG's playing partner AB also birdies 13th to go to sole 4th at -11.

TW's challenge waivers as he  drops a stroke 14th. CN joins TW and AB at -11. At this time, only SS seems tobe the a challenge for GG with both of them having 5 holes to play.

CN birdies the 17th to move to -12 and give himself an outside chance.

The only possible challenger SS goes down with a triple bogey on 14th. CN also drops a shot on last hole to drop to -11. GG pars 14th and suddenly he has a 3 stroke cushion with 4 holes to play :D  Gaurav just needs a steady play to win this tournament. The leaderboard is now

POS  STARTED   NAME        R1 R2 R3 R4  TO PAR  HOLE/(AGG)
1 1  Gaurav GHEI           65 72 68 -3 -14 14
2 8  Chapchai NIRAT        69 67 73 68 -11 (277)
2 6  Thaworn WIRATCHANT    72 68 67 -2 -11 16
2 1  Adam BLYTH            70 68 67  E -11 14

GG pars 15th, TW finishes. 3 holes to go.
AB birdies 16th to go to sole 2nd at -12, GG makes another par. Two holes to go with AB 2 strokes behind.
GG and AB par 17th. On to the last hole and first Indian victory of 2007!!!!!!!!
Its not over yet. AB will still be fighting as a swing of 2 is quite possible on one hole. AB needs an eagle or a birdie with a bogey by GG to send the tournament to playoff. Hopefull, GG will play safe. Go GG!!!!!!!!!

Yessss!!!!! No drama on last hole as boyh of them par.

Gaurav GHEI WINSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
woohoo woohoo woohoo

Great Win by Ghei !!!!!!

I had the opportunity of watching an Indian Golfer In Play after a long time as Star was telecasting it live. He played some really steady golf. It must have been intimidating to play beside a player like Blyth who was striking the ball a long long way compared to Ghei. It was especially conspicuous on the 16th(?) which was a par 5 and Blyth managed to comfortably hit it further than the pin whereas Ghei struggled to reach the greens in 3 shots!!!

Great job Ghei!!!!

I hope its not over yet as I believe Ten Sports is going to broadcast the recording of the final day of the Euro Event on Monday evening.... I hope Jyoti gets to play in the last group and ultimately wins it....

Congratulations to Gaurav Ghei, the first Indian golfer to win in 2007.  He has got his confidence back after his title in 2006 and I feel that he will do very well in the rest of the year.  Can he win the Order of Merit in 2007?  Sure, he can. Go Gaurav.

Awesome show from Gaurav Ghei. Congratulations to him for his consistent display this year.
Winning the order of merit will not be easy -- he will need to do well in one of the big money events (usually co-sanctioned with the European tour) to pick up ground on Haig who by the way had a dismal showing this week.

After a high last week Gaurav Ghei is taking a break along with many other Indiana. Rahil GANGJEE and Amandeep JOHL are the only two Indians participating in Asian tour event at Seoul, Korea. Both have not been doing good recently and they must be looking for a change in their fortune.

Amandeep Johl has finished his 2nd round at 1 under par. That makes him 3 over par for two rounds. The course is playing over par. I hope the cut will go up to +3 or even +4 and Amandeep Johl makes the cut. Rahil has yet to start his 2nd round. He needs to play at least 2 under par round.

After a disastrous 3rd round (78, +6), Amandeep Johl continues to be in lots of trouble on the final day as he is already 5 over for the day after 12 holes.  :damn:

Amandeep finished his round at +6. Now that puts him at +15 -- that is a mind boggling 33 strokes behind the leader (and the winner in all probability) who is at -18.
