Still unable to publish my piece on Yuki Bhambri for the front-page. Can someone please authorize publication? Front-page news isn't news if we publish it 12-24 hours (or more  !!) later.

Looks as if we are getting attacked by trolls and other e-vandals. Yesterday one thread had a cialis/viagra advertisement, and the latest person to join the forum has a moniker like "asiavidpornsex" or something similar.

One of the steps during registration should have an image file with convuluted numbers/characters (randomly generated). This should avoid the automated bots from signing up and posting junk on this forum...

Thanks Dhruv.   What, one more switch, so soon? You must be having a lot of free time!  I would say, no to PhbBB simply because, we are using SMF already and probably better to upgrade (to V2) on the same software.

I went looking for a solution in the SMF site and found one.  Here is the link.  It looks promising for sure.

Description:
Using this mod, forum users can choose which boards they wish to monitor in a recent posts listing.

The user settings are available at the profile section. Beneath the "look and layout preferences" users will find a new item called "Recent posts preferences".

This mod is compatible with all versions of 1.1, including the RC's.

Let me know whether this is an easier thing to do....

I tried the new feature "Recent posts preferences" in my profile. It still shows me all recent posts from all the boards.

case 1: choose all boards except cricket  Result: shows all recent posts.
case 2: logout and login using another browser.  Result: shows all recent posts.
case 3: only choose "General chit chat" and "Bug Reporting and Suggestions" boards  Result: shows all recent posts.

I went looking for possible cause of this problem: Looks like it has something to do with caching. May be you have "level 1 caching enabled"?

I will wait for 24 hours, try again and report back.

No caching on SMF.  Maybe on Joomla......

Ok, I tried the "recent posts" link again:
index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=64&action=recent

My preference remained the same as before:  only choose "General chit chat" and "Bug Reporting and Suggestions" boards.  The "recent posts" link continues to show all of the recent posts!

May be that is the wrong link to use??

Looks like this is related to the recently added image feature (with letters in them), when signing up for a new account at Sports-India.
