Re: Yuki Bhambri
The Grass at Mallorca is unlike the grass in the UK or Netherlands, but more like hard sunbaked grass courts at Kooyong Australian Open of yesteryears .

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Looks like this is the Yuki taking revenge tournament! So, hopefully they can go at least one more here as far more points are at stake....

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Yuki-Harris win the first set 6-4. Yuki got broken in very first game and they were down 0-2 in no time. Got the break back to level at 2-2 . Than it went on serve till 4-4 when Santiago Gonzalez got broken for the second time and than Yuki held at 15 to win the set for them.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Terrific win.
[SF] Yuki Bhambri (IND) / Lloyd Harris (RSA) vs. (1) Santiago Gonzalez (MEX) /Eduardo Roger Vasselin (FRA), 64 76(2)
Finals opponents are yet to be determined. Yuki moves up to #67 in live doubles rankings. About US$ 14K money too. Good, good...

Re: Yuki Bhambri
First ATP final for Yuki. Great run. He is getting to the stage where he does not have to play challengers any more. Hope Saki also can make his way up.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
This is a quality win by Yuki-Harris over the current #10-11 in the doubles ranking. Their final opponents will be lower ranked (between #30-70) but will there be the motivation to get revenge? A win will get Yuki into the 50s in the doubles rankings.
Harris, who is also in the singles SF, has cracked the top 200 in doubles and has also leap frogged Sumit in the singles rankings.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Other doubles SF was done today, So, tomorrow-n
At Mallorca ATP 250 (Grass)
[F] Yuki Bhambri (IND) / Lloyd Harris (RSA) vs. Robin Haase (NED) / Philipp Oswald (AUT)
Yuki and Harris have beaten top seeds and fourth seeds here while Haase and Oswald have beaten the third seeds and a pair which had upset second seeds. So, final is between 2 pairs who were not fancied to get to the final.
Oswald along with Jordan Thompson had beaten Yuki-Saki in Delray Beach ATP in Feb this year. So, revenge angle will partly work here for Yuki.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Final has started. 3-3 in first set. Only 1 bp so far which Yuki-Harris could not convert.
And now Yuki-Harris get the first break of the match against Haase to lead 4-3.
And they break Oswald to take the first set 6-3.
Yuki has been impeccable so far on serves and returns. I think the best player of the 4 in first set.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
But, Yuki got broken in first game of second set after deuce. Missed too many first serves there.
But, they broke right back at love to square it at 1-1.
Couple of easy holds for 2-2.
Yuki holds at 15 for 3-2.
Oswald holds at 15 for 3-3.
Harris holds at 15 for 4-3.
Haase holds at love for 4-4.
Yuki holds at 15 for 5-4.
Couple of superb returns by Yuki makes it 40-15 on Oswald serve, he saved 1 bp with good serve but on next point Yuki again produced a good return and than a winner to take it.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Wow, really dominant tournament for Yuki! Moves to 58 in live ranking. Should help him get into the US Open although several players now ranked below him are playing Wimbledon.

Saw the video of those two returns in the final game that won the match, basically. Wow, superb stuff from Yuki.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Great boost for Yookster!
It was a really great match from Yuki & Harris. They never let the match get away from them, even when they were down a break. They always broke back immediately, they always ascertained themselves on their opponents with great effect. Yuki was, hands down, the best returner of the 4 on the day. He even faced all the deciding points for his team.
I felt that there was something different in Yuki when playing alongside Harris, that I did not see when he was playing with Saki, no offence.
If YukiSaki can't do anything major in the remaining two grandslams of the year, they should consider other partners to improve their chances of accomplishing their potential...
