[R1] (3) Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty (IND,375) d. (WC) Watsachol Sawatdee (THA,1254), 63 46 62
I saw some parts of the match. She was quite error-prone in patches and the opponent was in some sense a bit of a "junk tennis" player with a strong serve. The unpredictability of Sawatdee's game gave Shrivalli trouble. She was down a break at 2-4, evened it at 4-4 but got broken again to lose the second set, with some errors. After 2-2 in the third set, Shrivalli shut the lid on the match.

^^^ Haha! That’s how I felt about the Thai player (junk shots) as well but then that’s how most of the Thai players play? (Peangtarn Plipuech comes to my mind). SRB has played this opponent last week in doubles when they struggled to win in 3 sets, so I thought she knew her style but that definitely impacted her score today.

You are right. There are a few Thai players who play some weird tennis, and sometimes even make it work

At the ITF M25 in Nakhorn Si Thammarat, Thailand (Hard):
[R1] (Q) Sai Karteek Reddy Ganta (IND,1484) l. (Q) Weitao Xu (CHN,ITF-918), 64 46 16
[R1] (Q) Dheeraj Kodancha Srinivasan (IND,ITF-1025) d. (Q) Tanakorn Srirat (THA,ITF-2241), 64 62
[R1] (2) Mukund Sasikumar (IND,454) d. Jirat Navasirisomboon (THA,1154), 63 62
Good work by Dheeraj to pick up an ATP point and get an ATP ranking. Sai Karteek started with 5 aces in the first two games and 10 in his first 5 service games (in fact Weitao only took 2 points off his serve in the first set, I think) but the question, as always, was whether he could sustain it. He only had 2 aces in the second set and 2 more in the third, as he really started getting dominated. Weitao had no aces in his first 7 service games but had 9 in the next 5 service games, as Sai Karteek was out of the game. Unfortunate

[R2] (Q) Dheeraj Kodancha Srinivasan (IND,ITF-1025) l. Leo Borg (SWE,772), 46 26
[R2] (2) Mukund Sasikumar (IND,454) d. (WC) Credit Chaiyarin (THA,1733), 61 62
so,
[QF] (2) Mukund Sasikumar (IND,454) vs Tomohiro Masabayashi (JPN,938), Friday
[R2] (7) Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,488) d. Monique Barry (NZL,574), 62 63

so
[QF] (7) Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,488) vs (Q) Anri Nagata (JPN,1134), Friday
[QF] (3) Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty (IND,375) vs Mariia Tkacheva (RUS,528), Friday
The three QFs are all against players who upset seeds in the R2, including Nagata who upset the top seed. So these are not necessarily gimme matches, especially for Shrivalli, as Tkacheva was a #331 player as a 20 year old two years ago.

Vaidehi has beaten this girl Monique Barry 3 times in last 2 months all in straight sets. She must be hating to see Vaidehi in her part of the draw.
Hope we get at least 2 of the 3 wins here tomorrow, all 3 would be great.

Perhaps it's raining in Thailand. All the matches that should be on now say "To be played".

Re: ITF W15/W35s & M15/M25s Nakhon Si Thammarat, THA (Aug-Sep 2024)
There is no rain. Womens's QF's got done. Vaidehi won in an easy match and Shrivalli lost in a tough 3 setter.
[QF] (7) Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,488) d. (Q) Anri Nagata (JPN,1134) 62 61
[QF] (3) Shrivalli Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty (IND,375) l. Mariia Tkacheva (RUS,528) 36 76(6) 46
Shrivalli's opponent was ranked 331 a couple of years back, so it was not an easy match as it looks based on rankings.
Next,
[SF] (7) Vaidehi Chaudhari (IND,488) vs. Mariia Tkacheva (RUS,528)
Can Vaidehi avenge Shrivalli's loss. Good thing is Vaidehi got an easier match today, she will be playing 9th singles match in 2 weeks tomorrow.
