Disappointing beginning and end to go with a disastrous middle!

We just don't have much talent especially on the offensive side to compete even at the Asian level. We can grind out some draws and 1-0 type results against the poorer Asian teams but against the better Asian teams we really aren't that competitive. Note that Asia is likely the weakest of the major confederations.

Sunil Chettri remains our best offensive threat which is a credit to him but a major failure for the Indian team to have no one better than an ageing mediocre player as our main striker. It's a little like Pakistan in tennis where Aisam will be their best tennis player till he is 80 ( ) because they have no one else....

Make a rule. Can't have more than one foreign striker in club level match, whether it's isl or any local league....

Fully support. And, relax the other limits. Meaning you can play as many foreigners at any other position but you need to have one or fewer foreign strikers. If this creates extreme use of foreigners in any other position, we can add similar rules. Our strikers need to play and play against the best opposition to improve.
