Great report Jay...Words cannot express how important a win this was for Harsh. I think this was one of many wins to come in matches like these.

I don't know if the win was THAT important though ... In my view, these kinds of wins should now become reoutine for Harsh though .. He is going to keep getting tough opponents in these challengers -- you have to win these kinds of matches and then win another and another .. That is easier said and done, but that is how you move to the next level.
That is, anybody playing top-250 quality tennis need to be beaten every time, and he needs to start getting wins against top-150 at least half the time. Harsh has the tennis to do that, but hasn't yet done that consistently enough yet. He is getting ready to do that I hope.

That's absolutely right, Jay. The work to get to the Top 200 (then 150 and 100) is just begining. Good sign, though, for Harsh seems to have learnt mental management skills from some close losses earlier.jayakris wrote:I don't know if the win was THAT important though ... Great report, Jay & I agree that Harsh should win these matches regularly in his quest towards top 200 & 150.
His R2 opponent seems to be as tough if not tougher.
Go Harsh.

Getting match score updates from Varma!
Harsh Mankad (IND,230) vs Llia Bozoljac (SCG,232)
First set ..
2-3 on serve .. HM serving authoritatively, says varma.
3-4 on serve .. couple of decues on HM's serve at 2-3 but no problems.
4-5 on serve .. No break points on either player so far ..

Decent start. Harsh has to win these types of matches against players ranked very close to him. Simply a truism if he is to fulfil his destiny as a top-200 player by year-end.

Ok, Jay, you don't have a cell-phone (as if that is forgiveable in today's age!).
But you don't have call-waiting either???? Which planet is this engineer on
