What a dominant win. Five world championship medals — 2 bronze, 2 silver and now 1 gold. She is an absolute legend who knows how to peak at the right time. Wow

Not sure if she is the greatest ever yet. That would still be Magnificent Mary. But certainly the greatest badminton player ahead of Prakash Padukone and Saina.

Yes, for me the greatest Indian sportswoman of all time too.

It was interesting that in the post match interview, Sindhu first thanked the new Korean womens coach and then thanked Gopi. The Korean coach does seem to have made a difference in her game in this world championships.

Can we get someone like Handyo too again for mens team at the earliest. Momota has been way above everyone else there ( he destroyed Antensen in the final here too). But, other than him things are not settled. So, if a good coach can get it together along with Gopi, it may still be time for either Sai Praneeth or even Srikanth to aim for a minor medal at Tokyo.

I believe there is some coach on men's side also. He was there in Praneeth's matches along with Gopi. I don't know who he is though.

Don't think the men have a coach since Handyo went to Singapore.

Singles coach is also there. He is Park Tae Sang. I think all these coaches are there since Feb.

Amazing achievement from Sindhu! Completely dominated the field in this tournament.

For all time greatest Indian sportsperson, we should probably also include a couple of the cricketers - Sachin Tendulkar and perhaps Virat Kohli....

Sachin and Vishy Anand have a shout for sure. I wouldn't include the likes of Bindra, Sushil and Mary Kom in the discussion. Would put Vijay Amritraj and Saina above that lot.

Virat is a choker in knockout matches, and has been a poor LOI captain though ironically probably the best test captain. He could still change the former though time is running out for him.

Nobody is even considering Leander among the greats? The first individual medal at an Olympics after 44 years, won by a guy not even in the best 100 in the world then. Even now the most shocking achievement ever by an Indian, to me! He was later a world #1 in a different sport too (I mean doubles).
