Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
Jacques Kallis became the first cricketer to reach 8,000 runs and 200 wickets in Tests and One-Day Internationals.
Sanath Jayasuriya has achieved the 8,000-200 double in one-dayers while Sir Garfield Sobers has done the same in tests.
Kallis is also South Africa’s all-time highest run-scorer in both forms of the game.

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
Here's an intereting one...atleast one person (read sandeep) will like it.
In the recently concluded DLF series ('concluded' as far as the Indian team is concerned), Sachin outsocred the whole top-order combined.
He scored 222 runs is 4 innings, which is more than that of Dravid (39 runs in 4 inn)+Sehwag (28 runs in 4 inngs) +Raina (73 runs in 4 inngs) + Dhoni (43 runs in 3 inngs) + {Kaif (22 runs in 2 inngs)+Yuvraj (0 runs in 2 inngs)} combined!!
You can add Agarkar, Sreesanth and Munaf also ..if you like.

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
Puneet's statistics and trivia are always interesting. And this one is interesting in its own right, but he has left out Mongia...

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
Mongia played just 1 game...and I left him out to make this "trivia" more interesting. The other played all 4 games.
Did you notice the curlty brackets {} I used for Kaif+Yuvraj ..combined 4 games.

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
Obviously he's very early in his career, but here are some of Tharanga's feats in Limited-overs Internationals.
Best conversion rates of 50s into 100s (qualification - at least 5 centuries):
Best century to innings ratio (qualification - at least 5 centuries):
Highest batting average ignoring 'not outs' (qualification - at least 1000 runs):

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
I didn't get the second one. How come Tharanga's century to innings ration is over 20?

Five players from one side scoring 30 or more runs
In today's game between SL and Pak, 5 SL players scored 30 or more runs. Here's the complete list.
Here is a list of Limited-over International matches in which 5 players from one side scored 30 or more runs.
Notes:
1. Kenyans were batting in contiguous positions (3-7).
2. Sri Lankans are the only ones to achieve this feat from the top of

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
In his last 18 test matches (Bangladesh and Zim excluded),
Sachin has scored just 726 runs at an average of 27.9 runs per inngs (with 1 century and 4 fifties)
Contrast this with his career average of 55.4!
Of these 18 matches, 13 were played on home soil.
Here is the link:
Now lets consider Dada ..the man who was dropped becuase he was consistently failing in test matches.
Here are Dada's stats in his 18 matches (prior to him being dropped). I've removed Zim and B'desh
Link (remove the last 4 matches - those were his "comeback" matches).
768 runs at an average of 29.5 (with 2 centuries and 3 fifties).
Of these 18 matches, 13 were held on Indian soil.
If instead of 18, I include 20 matches (ie. matches from Aus series too), then Sachin's average shoots to 47! while Ganguly's becomes 34.
But this clearly shows the slump that Sachin is going through..and maybe the weightage (sometimes bias) that is attached to his name.
