Re: World Women Chess Championship - 2008
Ajay, I think Tania lost her match against (0.5-1.5). Disappointing that Tania lost to an unseeded player who is ranked below her
Harika has a tough match up against Anna MAzychuk. She has the talent to beat her and I hope she executes it to perfection against Mazychuk. Go Harika

Harika managed to draw her second game also and now the winner will be decided through tie breaks. A very creditable performance from the young Harika over a player with higher ELO rating. Go Harika

Harika is through to 3rd round!
Harika, Dronavalli(IND) (2461) b. Muzychuk, Anna (SOL) (2504 ) 2.5 - 1.5
In the first tie breaker Harika played with black and it was a draw once again. But when playing the second tie-braker, Harika got a breakthrough win! So now both Koneru and Harika are in last 16.
3rd Round pairing
IND Koneru, Humpy 2622 Vs. HUN Hoang Thanh Trang 2487
IND Harika, Dronavalli 2461 vs. ARM Mkrtchian, Lilit 2436

Superb performance from Harika. She never played a tie breaker in her life and that makes the victory even more special. Go Harika

Harika also drew her first round against Lilit Mkrtchian. Hopefully both Humpy and Harika win their matches tomorrow and avoid tiebreaker. It is an altogather different game if you enter the tie break. It more of a rapid chess then.

Humpy wins her 2nd game and she is through to 5th round with a score of 2.5 - .5 Go Humpy!!
However, Harika hit a road block as she loses her 2nd game and the 3rd round .5 -2.5. Well done Harika to win two rounds and reach last 16 in the World Women's Championship

Excellent win for Humpy, so far she is living upto the expectations of being favourite.
Sad to see Harika losing, but she is very young and has lots of time to get back and win this tournament.
Ajay, where are you getting the results from? None of the websites I visit has the results updated. Not even FIDE!!
