Should he not be winning this matches on his favorite surface little easily?

True, I saw the second and third set of that match and his serve and volley game was not as smooth as in fact it was in a couple of matches which I saw him win in clay season. In fact he hit his first ace in second set.

He will have to pick up his game in today's match.

At Nottingham 2 Challenger 125, Great Britain (Grass)

[Q2] (8) Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,211) vs. (1) Kasper Zuc (POL,169)

Zuc has risen up sharply in the rankings after resumption of tennis in the last year but has not played much on grass. Hope RamK can play his best grass court game to take him out.

That's a really good win against a pair of good singles players (Basilashvili is now ranked 30, with a career-high of 16 in singles). Why don't Rohan and Divij pair up more often together?

RamK is 1 set all against top seed in qualies Zuk.

He won the first set 6-3 with 1 break of serve. No breaks in second set although RamK had a few breakpoint chances. It went to tie break where RamK came back from 2-5 down to get to a match point at 6-5 on Zuk serve but Zuk served well to get the next 2 points and then anther one on RamK serve to take the tie break and level the match at 1 set all. RamK should really have taken those chances in that set.

And RamK easily takes the third set 61 to upset the top seed and qualify for main draw at Nottingham.

At Nottingham 2 Challenger 125, Great Britain (Grass)

[Q2] (8) Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,211) d. (1) Kasper Zuc (POL,169) 63 67(7) 61

His opponent will be decided shortly after the qualifiers are placed in main draw.
