Pranjala and her partner lost in a match tie break but still good experience for her playing in a WTA tournament.

She also made the semi finals last year at Hua Hin. So, her second WTA SF, not the first. Still an excellent run.

Re: Australian ATP/WTA tournaments - Jan-Feb 2021
^^^Oh yes, I just looked at her bio. I’m glad they are not facing Martic/Sevastova pairing. Francesca Jones, by the way, is from GBR. She has an amazing story in herself after having told by a few doctors that she was not capable of playing tennis due to her special condition (she has only 3 fingers on each hand, and misses a few toes, as well), she is now not only ranked inside 250 in the world but also qualified for the Australian open before losing to Shelby Rogers in the opening round.
Wishing for another straight sets win for our team.

Our pair started well, going up 3-0 -- when I started following, and it's now 3-3. I'll try not to check the score for awhile!

One set all in Ankita's semifinal -- 4-6, 6-4. They are now in the STB. (I didn't follow the second set, so she won it; now will try to stay away from following the rest of the STB).
It worked: Ankita/Kamila win the STB 11-9!!

Re: Australian ATP/WTA tournaments - Jan-Feb 2021
First WTA250 doubles final of Ankita's career. She and Karman won a WTA125 doubles title at Taipei in November 2018. Ankita also won a $100K ITF doubles title in the UAE two months ago.
Partnering Rosalie van der Hoek, Ankita made two ITF doubles finals ($100K and 60K) in October and November 2019. Earlier, she won a couple of ITF 60K doubles titles in Turkey and China in 2017 and 2018. A pretty impressive and growing trophy cabinet.
