Isn’t Vasselin Rohan’s ex partner in several tournaments? I suppose they know each other’s game well. Great that the Indian pair had the upper hand. Now, please capitalize on this win. Pretty please?

Yes, Vasselin was Rohan's ex-partner ... Pretty good win by Divij and Bops against Vasselin and Kubot in straight sets.

Also, a terrific comeback win by Ram against Mayer ... Hopefully he continue with his good run against Kamil.

Ankita and Renata Zarazua also started with a good win against seeded pair.

Roger-Vasselin was Bopanna's partner for many months, but Bopanna has also paired up with Kubot at least once (Shanghai Master 2015, where they made the SF). But nonetheless, this is a very good win for Bopanna/Sharan, who really need to play more often together: it works well, and especially on grass.

Watching Ramkumar vs Kamil, Ramk loses the first set while trying to stay in the set 4-5 15-30 by coming to the net twice losing to his opponent’s excellent returns. :damn: If his serves doesn’t work, he doesn’t seem to have a game plan other than S&V.

Will he change his tactics for the 2nd set (and possibly the 3rd)?

I have been criticising about this tactics of RamK on rushing to the net after every serve. But, he probably feels that his best chance to win points as big serve and net play are his biggest strengths. I too feel his groundgame is not good enough to outrally a consistent and good baseliner ranked inside top 150. So, he tries to play to his strengths. But, hope at least for surprise element, he will need to stay back on some of the serves and that will create uncertainity in opponen't mind.

For record, today he lost in straight sets with 1 break in each set.

At Nottingham 2 Challenger 125, Great Britain (Grass)

[R2] (Q) Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,211) l. Kamil Majchezak (POL,112) 46 36

Probably explains why he hasn’t won a tournament outside of those at the Futures level in his career.

At the $100K+H Nottingham ITF,

[QF] Ankita Raina/ Renata Zarazua 7-6 6-3 Naomi Broady/ Samantha Murray Sharan

Great match by our pair. Ankita and Renata complement each of their playing styles being a scratch pair and gave a better fights against the Brits, having trailed 3-4 at one stage in the first set before capturing the TB. Samantha double faulted on 3-5 40-40 which gave our pair an easier win without much of a fight.

SF opponents will either be Aussies Priscilla Hon/ Storm Sanders or the 2nd seeds Leslie Pattinama Kerkhove/ Sabina Santamaria.

Ankita too is headed in the direction of becoming a doubles specialist. I hope the Wimbledon singles qualifying draw is kind, and she makes the main draw — prolonging her singles hopes.
