Re: Vidit Santosh Gujrathi WR#47 Oct 2016
Prashanthm, it may be very well true that Adhiban cracked Top 50 earlier. I hope he makes a comeback to top 50 soon.

Re: Vidit Santosh Gujrathi WR#47 Oct 2016
Seems like Vidit is the 4th Indian to reach top 50. After Anand, Sasikiran was probably the second Indian to make it to top 50 and he was ranked as high as 26th in May 2012. Later Harikrishna joined the club and made it to top 10 just few days back.

Vidit Santosh Gujrathi
Congratulations Vidit for breaking into top 50 of the live world chess ranking at WR#47. With his 3rd victory in 3rd round at ongoing Isle of Man Open tournament, Vidit's live ELO ratings entered in the 2690s at 2693.2. Another coveted landmark of 2700 is in sight. For a while it looked Adhiban will...

Re: Live Chess Ratings - Top 100
Time to record historic event of two Indians in top 10 of Chess ratings. Harikrishna, with back to back two wins in Spanish league gained 7.1 more points that ensured breaking into top 10 for the first time ever  . Anand also got a victory in second round of the Tal Memorial when he beat Mamed...

Re: P Harikrishna (World Junior Champion 2004)- Player Thread
Harikrishna has reached his highest ranking of his career at WR11. His earlier best ranking was #12. He almost made it to top 10 as only .1 points separate #10 Mamedyarov & #11. After a short dip, when he dropped to #16, Hari has play good chess (beating Mamedyarov, Karjakin, drawing with Carlse...

Re: World Chess Olympiad/ World Team Chess

Re: Force India
Its a tough fight between Force India and Williams for the 4th spot. Force India was not expected to give a fight to Williams, but here they are almost even. The next two teams fighting for the 6th spot are way too behind. There is no contest for the top spot as Mercedes is in class of its own. Howe...

Re: Live Chess Ratings - Top 100
India's #3 Adhiban had a good outing at Abu Dhabi Int. Chess Festival Masters Tournament where he finished second. He led the tournament solo or jointly till the last round, but got leapfrogged by Russian top seed Andreikin Dmitry who won his lat match while Adhiban only got a draw. In 2008 Adhiban ...

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016
Till 1999, when LP/MB became doubles #1, I think we had only had Anglo-Indian Wilson Jones in Billiards as the only one who had been #1 in any sport in the world (if I am not mistaken). A decade and half later, we have some young ones pushing for the top spot, which is so nice to see (and of course...
