Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Yes, but if we want to play Rutuja at #1 singles, we cannot play Sahaja as other singles player as Sahaja is ranked higher than Rutuja and Sahaja will become #1 in that case. So, maybe play Shrivalli at #2 and Rutuja at #1. Not a bad ploy, we will know what form Shrivalli is in and she has shown abi...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Excellent to get a win after losing that critical match of Ankita. Prarthana stood and made her doubles prowess count.

Yes, relagation ruled out now. Now, we can make a stretch and beat NZ and Korea to get into top 2 ?

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Damn, that was an opportunity lost by us and sad that it is due to Ankita who has bailed us out so many times in the past in the Fed cup. Unfortunately, Ankita has been badly out of form for last few months, or maybe age is catching up with her. Whatever it, I agree that in rest of the matches we ne...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Could be due that. But, Ankita needs to win the next match against #305 En Shuo Liang. Taiwan doubles team is very strong with world #1 Sue Wei Seieh in it.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Our match against Taiwan started. Rutuja is playing second singles for us today and is up against Hao-Ching Chan who is ranked outside 1000. I wonder why Taiwan is playing her instead of much higher ranked players in the team. This is the live link- https://wx.vzan.com/live/page/1413076855?v=1712740...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Yes , against China tomorrow. Almost an impossible match with China having 2 top 50 players.

Key matches will be next 3 against NZ, Taiwan and Korea. Need to win all 3 to finish in top 2 for promotion. Win at least 1 out of 3 to avoid relagation.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

By the way, why are we wasting Ankita's energy today against Pacific Oceania?? True, we need her to be at her usual fighting best in rest of the matches. We should have rested her for today's match. Interesting that we still choose Rutuja as our #2 player ahead of Sahaja who is ranked higher. I gue...

Under 16 girls team is selected as Maaya Rajeshwaran, Diya Ramesh and Yashika Shokeen. Maaya and Diya are expected, Yashika Shokeen is rather unexpected choice as third player.

Re: Roland Garros Claycourt Run-Up Tournaments 2024

There have been great days when our heroes defeated people. But, I can't remember back to back three top-65 wins. When was the last time? Well, in *modern* and *human* history, of course. Last time was way back in Indian Wells 2011 by Somdev- Mannarino, Baghdatis and Malisse before going down to Na...
