Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Just when you think India is doing a good job! I am sure there are zillion other events of this magnitude, or several notches up! Pure madness :damn: :damn: :damn: 1,008 couples perform ‘Satyanarayana Vratam’ in Asifabad on Tuesday One of the organisers Ganapuram Murali said the ritual was held by 6...

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Thankfully I did not come in direct contact with this guy at all. He visited a building adjacent to the one that I work in. Ours is a big campus with a couple of thousand people working. I usually carry lunch from home every day, but on the 3rd March I left in a hurry and left my lunch pack at home....

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

My employer made an announcement today. One of our vendors who visited our office campus (from Seattle, no less!) had spent 3 full days here on our campus - from 2nd March to 4th March. He was mildly sick during that time already. Today he was tested positive!!! During his visit, he met with several...

Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...

Completely echo your sentiments, Atithee. If any, our guys should be begging these coaches not to leave. It's ridiculous that the system is not disciplining our players despite multiple coaches abandoning citing the same reason.Pretty pathetic and disgusting!

It's a team event, so speculating of such a strategy completely makes sense.

Samson's case is similar to that of Nair. He is a Malayalee who grew up in Delhi. I think he started representing Kerala only after he gained fame in IPL.

...(Can someone--Jay!--explain the use of the blue colour. I thought Green was for Indian winners. Is blue for a veteran on his last tour of duty?) After all, Lee is the "Blue-eyed boy" of this forum! Certainly so on occasions like today where he is in the news for playing Tennis and not ...

Re: $162 K (+H) Bengaluru Challenger 2020

I would add Saketh to that list as well. He reached a career high of 113 (in 2016) and showed a lot of promise whenever he was injury free, although he too gets perennially injured just like Yuki. With his potent serve, he definitely had the potential to be in Top-100. That 5-set US Open 2016 R1 los...

Re: $162 K (+H) Bengaluru Challenger 2020

Very impressive wins from Sid and Sasi. The latter must be riding high on confidence. So far in 2020 he played 7 matches, all against players ranked higher than himself, with a record of 4-3. Wins against... Yoshihito Nishioka (71, CH 58) Duckhee Lee (235, CH 130) Paolo Lorenzi (116, CH 33) Blaz Kav...

Re: Sania Mirza Comeback (2020-22). Retired 2023

Shuai Zheng is also in singles final, which is played right before the doubles final. Hopefully she gets extended to 3 sets to maximize Sania's chances for what would be an wesome comeback title.

Hmm. Sorry, wrong Olympics thread. This is under Football. Messed up late at night I suppose. I was trying to find something under wrestling. A kind mod may move my post to either the Tokyo Olympics thread please? Or the wrestling threat . Apologies. Did you really write that, Prasen? You either pa...

Re: The Dr Bhushan Sharma 2019 Indian Tennis Player Of the Year

Ankita maybe well behind Praj and Sumit if one goes by looking just at the spike in ranking, big wins etc. However, if you look at the resources a player had in hand and what they achieved with those, Ankita's achievements stand taller compared to the ones of her male counterparts.

Re: Mukund Sasikumar thread

Nice interview, Vatsal. He sounds a lot more philosophical for his age. Maybe it's the timing of the interview? Anyway, I am hoping that his upward swing continues into 2020 and that he gets to debut into one of the grandslam main draws.
