Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

^^^Thanks, Mugu for your observation. Still perplexed by what you mean. Is he being tested by reliable testers (from outside Pakistan) since he appears to be mostly based in Pakistan? Or are the Pakistan testers reliable unlike those in countries like China, Russia, Belarus, North Korea etc. where ...

Re: Aryan Shah thread

These are 2 quality wins by Aryan on South American clay. Midon is a real South American clay specialist having reached the QFs in the last 2 challengers he played and also has won 2 M25's earlier this year (all of these events in South America). So, this will be a real good test for Aryan on South ...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...

Rethin Pranav (IND,70) lost to Luis Guto Miguel (BRA,35) 06 36 in second round of J500 in Milan, Italy. Indian-American Ronit Kirki had a good upset win over 11th seed in first round and is thru to third round here.

In J200 in Romania, second seed Arnav Paparkar has gone on to reach the SF with ...

Re: Dhakshineshwar Suresh Ekambaram thread

On faster courts, I think DKS may well be India's best player. Perhaps, RamK can challenge him if he finds his form again but otherwise he should be one of singles options on faster courts in Davis Cup.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread

Surprised at the one sided score. He seems to have had his share of break chances but couldn't convert them. Maybe he didn't have his legs for a fight.

Re: French Open 2025

What a surprisingly thumping win for Sumit in Q1.

Next,

[Q2] Sumit Nagal (IND,170) vs. Jurij Rodionov (AUT,225)

Before this week, Rodionov had not won a clay match this season, today he beat Eubanks who himself is not great on clay. So, if Sumit plays in same form as today, he has a decent ...

Re: French Open 2025

As of now, Yuki and Galloway should be a low seed in the French Open doubles draw.

They are the 17th-highest pair in the acceptance list, so probably won't be seeded unless one of the top-16 pairs pulls out. Bopanna/Pavlasek are the 21st on the list, Balaji/Reyes-Varela are 34th, and ...

Re: Manas Dhamne thread

Manas plays against former top 50 player Cachin in first round.

At Skopje Challenger 75, Maldova (Clay)

[R1] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,756) vs. Pedro Chachin (ARG,368)

Cachin was in top 50 just 2 years back but had some injuries it seems and not the same player these days. He has been losing a ...

Re: European Challengers 2025

^^^^ Somewhat strange loss in that they got completely outplayed in the 2 tie breaks. Otherwise, they seemed to play well with 11 breakpoints versus only 2 for their opponents although they both teams could only break twice. Otherwise, they could have won a set without having to go to set tiebreaks.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread

Watched the link for a few of the games and Manas level of play matched that of Martin and was perhaps a little better. No fluke shots by Manas or poor play by Martin.

If he is consistent and can repeat this level than 300-400 may well be his current level of play.

Did notice that his serve is ...

Re: Aryan Shah thread

Tough challenge for Aryan. Hopefully, he is doing this plan fully to develop his game because otherwise to win in South American clay is pretty hard for those that are primarily hard court players.

That’s one chart that at least aligns with the mainstream in the US on perceived media bias. Of course, those sitting on the left, think everything is right wing biased and vice versa.

WP, NYT, CNN are generally considered left leaning ...

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

Even though he didn't win, it is good that the 90m barrier has been breached by Neeraj. I think this will give him the confidence that he can do this more often.

Looks like Webber had a fantastic effort with 4 throws of 88+ including the winning 91.06. Neeraj also had a great series with 3 throws ...

Re: Manas Dhamne thread

^^^Not sure I’d be that skeptical of Piatti as they have developed him to where he is the 6th highest u18 player on the ATP tour. Of course, he hasn’t played the junior tour much but that is generally the case with the best few players in each cohort. Despite his most recent loss, he has been ...
