Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025

[SF] 1-Jay Clarke (GBR, 298) d. 4- Aryan Shah (IND, 567) 36 76(5) 62

Despite loss, encouraging performance by Aryan. Statistically he was the better player over the first 2 sets with 3 breaks to being broken once and had six break points versus facing 3 breaks points. Looks like he faded in the ...

Re: Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi thread

Worth noting the current WTA #6 is eligible for the juniors! Maaya is the highest ranked 15 year old in the WTA rankings!

Re: Maaya Rajeshwaran Revathi thread

^^^It is based on girls maturing faster than boys. On the WTA tour, there are 16 players in top 400 among those 18 and under. On the ATP tour, there are only 10 players that are in top 750 that are 18 and under.

Re: Indian Economy

hink moving manufacturing from US to china was a win-win.. US consumers got products at very cheap price , while china’s economy benefitted. In fact i think there is lot more benefit to countries like US where the cost will be much higher considering the environment regulations.

This is a short ...

Re: I got my Green Card!

A US green card is essentially an indefinite stay visa with permission to work. Provably, similar is some ways to an Indian OCI card. I believe it needs to be renewed every few years.

However, as we are learning, anyone powerful in the executive branch can cancel a green card or any other visa for ...

Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025

^^^Not really. He is going to turn 22 and almost never beats anyone in the top 500. Also, his results seem worse this year compared to last year, so hard to make the case that he is improving.

He can turn it around at some point, but he is far less promising than Manas and Aryan right now.

Re: European Challengers 2025

He went 1-15 in the second half of last year from the Olympics onwards. He started this year with a good effort at Auckland but has regressed again it seems. He is still 27, so hopefully he has at least one or two good years left age-wise but for good years to happen he has to start winning matches ...

Re: M15/M25- Chandigarh/Ahmedabad/Bengaluru-March 2025

Yes, other than Manas and Aryan, none of the younger Indians are showing any spark. While I am happy for the likes of Vishnu or SidR to get some wins, they are very low ceiling players at this stage of their careers, so hard to get too excited about their wins.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread

Loss may not be as bad as it appears. Schoppe’s played only a few tournaments without much success but was ranked between 30-50 in NCAA college rankings at the end of last college year (summer 2024). So, she may well be a top 500 level player based on her college success.

Re: Nishesh Basavareddy thread

Just to be clear there is no official live ranking. For example, when we note someone’s career high or how many weeks they are the top 100, it is solely based on the official rankings which are updated weekly or biweekly.

The live ranking simply is an estimate of the next official ranking which ...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Yes, Yuki is at his career high official rank of 37!

In the live ranking, he is at 31 as you note and two of the six people he’s leap frogged include Bops and Ebden who each lost a 1000 points from last years Miami title and have tumbled 20+ positions in the rankings.

Re: Indian Economy

While fair trade works, the distorted trade like that done by China is not equally beneficial to all. Not sure about the effectiveness of the Trump tariff model which seems somewhat arbitrary but while idealized fair trade works for most, distorted trade isn't the same. Ideally, the US should just ...
