Re: Athletics Thread (General/World)

I remember a singing show that was many years back, where they had public voting to decide the winner. The winner was not the judges choice… I still remember the next week, the winner was sitting stone faced while judges lambasted the decision. The guy who did not win was basking in the limelight. T...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Kumar, I will never cheer a home team player's dismissal to see anyone bat. I will also never cheer an opposing player if KKR is playing them even though I love them. We are all called fanatics for a reason. Probably this is a most logical thing (fans and logic should be oxymoron) for someone who w...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

What an astounding innings from Dhoni.. 20 runs off 4 balls. To have opponent crowd going bonkers over your performance… In a popularity scale, who are your top three indians that crowd will come to watch bat and may even cheer your own team player dismissal to see them bat? Sachin, Dhoni and Kapil ...

Fantabulous performance from Sumit. He needs to arrange his schedule to take appropriate breaks. The week break will have him recharged and completely focussed.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

And, logically, requiring one person to do two things is going to be almost always producing poorer results than two specialists doing that thing. May be true.. but is it entertaining if u say only specialist should bat and bowl? I think NFL the injury risk for a player playing both offense and def...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Bouncers & wide in DRS are atleast better then nonsense sub rule as it does'nt change the dynamics of the game. Sub rule is just use for entertainment, money, protect the game from being one sided by issuing a extra talent for last time in the game, only a fool will ask to put it in ICC. If it ...

I was really hoping they would win. Need to take advantage of opportunities like this.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Impact player rule is hurting pace bowling allrounders. This 3rd class rule should be removed, otherwise it wil be hard to find allrounders. To earn money, BCCI is changing the dynamics of the game. Maxwell is still bowling 2-4 overs. So if our all rounders are not good enough to bowl even one over...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

I agree.. but this is a fun exercise based on Prasen's impact player list..

Khalil has been really good this year. but he is a very poor batsman. Arshdeep and Siraj have improved their batting.. but Siraj looks jaded.. i hope bengaluru rest him next match.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Pandya got booed in Mumbai. Given his slow batting in the previous games, which he rectified today, etc., perhaps that is deserved. Manjrekar tried to tell the crowd to behave. Idiot. If you try to act like a parent to a crowd, the crowd will act like a teenager to you. The boos increased. His capt...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Fingers crossed. I hope he can keep his form. This is one guy the pace brigade should be excited about. But, maybe they got burned by the Umran's of the world and thus want to see a bit more. To be fair, he posted immediately after the first match. And indian mgmt.definitely shares some blame for t...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Please rest Mayank Yadav for second leg of IPL and directly pitchfork him into T20 WC! Siraj may be saying good bye to the spot in T20WC. My biggest worry is that he may be worn out after playing all this IPL matches. Pace guy with this control that early in his career is just unbelievable. Not sure...
