That's an authoritative come back from Bofors. Quite a demolition act. He totally turned it around and did everything right in the second set. Keep the momentum and close it out, Bops. You have to give us cheer on a day otherwise full of disappointments. But, no pressure though ;)

Shouldn't have lost that. He had control in the third set and was on fire in the first few games and then he seemed to run out of steam and let the opponent back in. One of those he'll look back on and think he should have won. I have seen the words "forehand unforced error" so many times today that I'll be dreaming about them tonight.

May be I should, Sandeep :( That's disappointing.

50% first serves with only winning 65% of those, 6 DFs, 31 winners, 43 UFEs, 3/8 in BP conversions...these stats will tell the story. I was really optimistic of a fight back when he broke Faurel back in the third set after being down 1-5. He had broken him at love in that 7th game and held on to his serve in the next. But Faurel served out in the 9th game at love. May be Bops went for broke in that last game. Well, he had no choice. All in all, pretty disappointed show from our trio in the qualies.

BTW, when do they announce wild cards for the doubles? I hope our guys get one.

Ohh terible day for us ... All three looses in Q2 ... :( Rohan tried to fight hard, but once his UFEs started to flow then there was nothing to stop him from loosing match ...

Very alarming UFEs by outr players ... And remains in top league our guys need to more consistent in their performance ... Kash loss was horrible considering his winners and UFEs ratio ... Shikha looks stagnant around 150, she needs to take corrective measures to move ahead in ranking.

All bad loses for indians.
So comprehensive.
I expected PA to win this match.
He was very good at chennai.

I belive Its the make of an indian that determines these results.

No offence here, Sports are more of an mind game than anything else.

Here we go, what are the odds that someone will now post that we don't have a killer instinct?

Let's put things in perspective. They just lost a tennis match, nothing else happened. No one died.

I for one recognise that our players are well short of being world beaters but I do know that they are fighters who give it their all to overcome their shortcomings and I respect them for that. They don't derserve the "Indian mentality" kind of criticism.

"If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!"

couldtn't agree more on jay, subodh and SKS.

Just one loss thats it. Look at the Sania Mirza column....similar statements. It looks like people beleive that u loose once and u loose everything.

Our prof once said........(if I am really not trying to act that smart")

"Only thing common among successfull people is that they have failed more than once......"

You are being really unfair. These guys put more blood, sweat, and tears into this game than some people would even believe.I don't think they lack killer instinct. Its a tough game out there, especially on the men's tour.
And no offence, but just a big serve doesn't mean that Bop's can blow everyone off the court.I'm sure he's working is behind off to win these matches, but his backhand, and movement need work. Its not all mental.Take a look at why they might have lost before putting it all down to our 'loser indian mentality'

As for shikha, the effort she puts into her matches has to be seen to be believed,so don't diss her for stagnating in the rankings.IMO she has the talent to be in the top 100,easy,but she is just playing the wrong kind of tennis. She has footspeed,variety,top-class serve, but instead of trying to work the points she's trying to outhit her opponents from what i've seen of her.I think some of us had a ten page discussion about 'lack of originality' much to the consternation of some, but Shikha should be trying to play her own game, not someone elses.IMO thats why she is struggling to get over that top-100 hurdle. It has nothing to do with lack of killer instinct.

I did expect a bit more from Prakash. The guy has game.
