(22) Anastassia Rodionova (RUS, 140) vs. Shikha Uberoi (IND, 153)

Set 1 (continued)

4-5 SU HOLDS!!!!...after getting down 15-40 SU saves 2 set points...and after a total of 9 DEUCES and 8 SET POINTS SAVED...SU holds on for 4-5....SU has served 53 first serves to just 18 from AR thus far
5-5 SU gets up 0-15...15-30 and 30-40 and then gets the crucial break to stay in the set!!!!!!
5-6 SU gets up 15-0 but soon finds herself down 15-40...AR capatalizes on the first BP...the 12th of the set so far
5-7 AR gets up 30-0....30-15...40-15...SET POINT # 9...converted

Set Stats---50 Minutes
SU 8 winners, 12 UFE's
AR 19 winners, 18 UFE's

Set 2

0-1 SU broken.... gets up 15-0 but a DF, a UFE and an AR winner put her down 15-40...two BH UFE's from AR bring it back to deuce but another DF and another UFE put give the game away
0-2 AR holds at love...AR hits two straight winner and an ace for 40-0...SU BH UFE for the game
1-2 SU holds...They trade UFE's for 15-15...AR then goes on a streak of three straight UFE's for the game to SU

Rather long break...injury timeout perhaps?? Pure speculation here...but maybe its AR...after all she just hit three straight errors...maybe she injured herself...most likely though it is probably just SU with a bathroom break...back to the match

1-3 an error from SU...and two straight from AR 15-30 on AR's serve...an AR winner for 30-30...a BH winner for SU...30-40 BREAK POINT...SU error...deuce...another BH winner BREAK POINT #2....FH winner for AR deuce #2...forced error by SU...wnner from AR for the hold
Shoot---Sorry everybody, I just changed by scoreboard setting to point tracker a few games and i didnt realize that they mention "forced errors" as well as "unforced errors"...so some of the UFE's i have mentioned in the last few games may have been forced errors...Very sorry again

2-3 A forced error and two straight UFE's from AR give SU 40-0...AR hits two straight BH winners for 40-30...A DF from Shikha takes it to deuce :frown: ...forced error from AR for AD IN...and a UFE on the BH side gives SU the game
2-4...AR holds...BH UFE from SU for 15-0...FH winner from AR...BH UFE from AR 30-15...FH UFE from SU 40-15...two errors, one UF from AR for deuce...AD IN for AR after a winner...but a UFE takes it back to deuce...a UFE from SU gives AR another game point...and another UFE from SU takes gives AR the game
2-5 AR breaks after 4 deuces...A UFE from SU and a winner from AR takes the score to 0-30...SU hits a FH winner for 15-30 and a FH UFE from AR takes it to 30-30...a BH forced error from AR takes it to 40-30...but she gets it to deuce with a FH winner...FH winner from AR takes it to ad out and BREAK POINT...AR loses it with a FH UFE...winner from AR takes it to Ad out and BREAK POINT #2...loses it with another FH UFE...deuce #3...Ad in for Shikha with an AR FH UFE....but AR comes back with a FH winner for deuce #4...BREAK POINT #3 for SU after a forced error from SU.....and after a UFE.... AR gets the insurance break...
2-6 AR holds at 30... AR gets up 40-15 after three errors from SU (2 UF) for TWO MATCHPOINTS....SU shows some fight with a BH winner to save the first but AR is too good with the FH winner to wrap up the match

I'd give the final match stats but they wont load for me anymore...

As peer the draw Sania first meets a qualifier. If she clears that she should meet Kraichek or brandi and if she clears that she would meet mauresmo! GO SANIA...

Boy, this Widom guys seems to be a big server...5 aces so far. With the opponent serving that efficient, perhaps P$ is feeling the pressure in holding his own serve. He got to do something rightaway and turn the match around in his favour.

Come, P.Diddy...show your magic :) :goodluck:

What kinda match was this??:damn:

NOT one ace from Prakash......He had 27 UFE's wheres as Widom had 3!

Prakash won only 50% of his first serves whereas Widom won 95%

Near demolition act performed by Widom :-(

Apalling match by Prakash....While Widom was really on his game (6 aces, 21 winners and onle 3 Unforced errors!) Prakash was far from that level...(1 ace, 12 winners and an atrocious 27 Unforced errors....)

Really dissapointing performance...perhaps a letdown to playing a player of his own rank (his last three matches had been against much higher ranked players...)

Im really pissed  ....after brilliant performances against three higher ranked players this was not expected...Our players seem to be frustratingly inconsistent.....Although Shikha and Prakash were both consistently error prone today...combining for 24 winners to 55 UFE's! :damn: Im so dissapointed...like a little boy who was waiting for a certain present on christmas morning only to find new cotton socks awaiting him under the tree (Horrible analogy....im just not in the mood to come up with a better one....)

All we have left now is Bops...

a disspointing loss for pa 2 & 1 , what an anticlimax after the past few heady days, at this stage , and the form he is in these matches one should convert or atleast take it down the wire but definately not such a lopsided affair , unless the injury bug has bit him

go on bofors the last man standing - dont let us down.

If I were to guess, maybe PA played his old game of rushing to the net every point + lot of UFE.

Could the fact that he was playing someone that he was expected to beat be something to do with the unforced errors?
