Why did they seed roddick ahead of hewitt? The only excuse cud be hewitt coming back from a layoff though the wimbledon seedings are supposed to consider proficiency on grass.I really think Safin is the real no 2 .Only if he could get his act together put some more decent results
during the season. But his performance in halle shud be encouraging.

Let's the see the draw tomorrow.where are you sania btw?

Genius, wimbledon seedings are given on the basis of how they performed at that venue in the past years. Roddick definitely deserves No.2, he reached semis in 2003 and Finals in 2004.

Not sure if these links were posted before.

Bollettieri on potential champions

Though i agree partly with him regarding passion since a natural enjoyment for what you do, makes learning and hard work a joy and hence success a byproduct,i wud have been looking for evidence of special skills. As his technical acumen will never rival that of mcenroe, navratilova or gilbert,it is understandable.

Still he seems to have got a few vital things right. One is individuals are different and you have work with them to see how to make each of them tick.Authoritarian individuals or those who have this annoying habit of imposing their "personal ideology" on others, usually make a mess of things when they are in authority with those pupils who may be made of a different psyche.

The other stuff like desire, work ethic are pretty standard.Interesting he also mentions academic education to ensure rounded people though i never thought of many sportsmen being well rounded.

Inside the academy

Here he does admit he was a BS guy to start with.but in the end results
did come!

Still waiting to see what happened to the Sunitha vs Mara match ... It never started, as far as I know (or it never hit the scoreabord). The draw still does not show who won, or if either gave a walkover or something .. The only womens' Q2 result still to be decided ..

What happened?

This is how players are seeded at Wimbledon: -

The world’s Top 32 participating players according to last Monday’s (June 13) INDESIT ATP Entry Ranking earn a seeding. Because three players in that Top 32 – No. 6 Andre Agassi, No. 12 Gaston Gaudio and No. 20 Carlos Moya – withdrew from the tournament before the seedings were announced, No. 33 Feliciano Lopez, No. 34 Mikhail Youzhny and No. 35 Robin Soderling move into the group of 32 players who earn a seeding.

· Take INDESIT ATP Entry Ranking points at Monday, June 13, 2005
· Add 100% of points earned for all grass court tournaments in the previous 12 months
· Add 75% of points earned at a player’s best grass court event in the 12 months before that.

The men’s doubles is seeded entirely according to the ATP Entry Ranking.

How can safin be 4??? Nadal is ahead of Safin in Indiset race points, he has fared better in last years Wimbledon than Safin I guess.

Tough loss to Shikha ... I was expecting hard fought three sets win for her .. :( What happened to Sunitha??? Hopefully not serious injury issue.

When we were feeling that this Wimbledon is only for Sania, Mahesh and our juniors, suddenly good news cropped up ... Doctor gave green signal to Lee to participate in Wimbledon ... Some swelling is there, otherwise no muscle or bone injury to his shoulder ... Doctor gave him some exercises to do ... Lee was very happy while talking to media people and he mentioned that Martina regularly called him to check his injury and call him 'Recovery Man' ... :)

So its great news guys Lee also in doubles and mixed doubles.

Pity about Shikha.I was hoping she'd qualify here after her first round victory.

Ha ... ha ... Now Pat Cash's time to cry about reshuffling of seedings .. For Hewitt is seeded third behind Roddick ... :)

Pat Cash criticises Wimbledon

Sania goes up against Akiko Morigami in rnd 1 and if she wins that most likely Kuznetsova.
