Three 10K futures.

Here is the list for the first one in Bangkok. Whole bunch of Indians there!!

1 MOTOMURA, Gouichi JPN 290
2 IWAMI, Tasuku JPN 314
3 TERACHI, Takahiro JPN 325
4 SIPAEYA, Sunil-Kumar IND 392
5 WILTSCHNIG, Herbert AUT 404
6 MATSUI, Toshihide JPN 418
7 KIM, Young-Jun KOR 430
8 GREMELMAYR, Denis GER 494
9 SRIDHAR, Vinod IND 498
10 KANNAN, Vijay IND 513
11 SLANAR, Martin AUT 559
12 KWON, Oh-Hee KOR 560
13 UPPAL, Vishal IND 573
14 LIU, Tai-Wei TPE 616
15 AL GHAREEB, Mohammed KUW 657
16 $ MARTIN, David USA 661 1
17 KISS, Sebo HUN 722
18 THOMPSON, Adam NZL 733
19 OGAWA, Atsuo JPN 739
20 SCHERER, Eric GER 744 3

Alternates

21 $ ROVAS, Nikos GRE 754=
22 PUNNA, Vishal IND 793=
..
27 PATHANJALI, Ravishankar IND 841
28 MATHEW, Jaco IND 847=
..
30 KANNAN, Kamala IND 858=
..
35 SINGH, Ashutosh IND 926=
36 RASTOGI, Karan IND 970=

Basically, everybody except PA,HM and Buji will be there! .. Of course, I have bascially given up on seeing ArunPrakash somewhere. How can the Asian junior champion from last year just disappear like this for a year.. I guess his coach has some high-fallutin ideas about breaking him out into the tour only when he is ready to beat Federer or something .. I shouldn't talk about stuff I don't know the details of, but this is looking ridiculous. We effectively seem to have just lost a top talent from last year.

I hope these become 10K+H Futures. Otherwise I doubt Motomura will turn up for them.

Futures fields are getting tougher and tougher -- not just this field on the men's side in Thailand, but also the women's field in India. I hope our players do manage to gain some points from these events.
Sorry to hear that Vijay Kannan lost his grandfather recently -- my condolences for the family's bereavement. I believe his shoulder injury is now fully healed, and he should be well-positioned to continue from where he left off -- his first Futures title in Delhi recently.
Sunil, Vijay, Vinod and the two Vishals make up a very strong India contingent -- and I hope they feed off each other to spur all of them onto better performances there.

True PKB futures becoming more tougher and tougher ... Quality players r participating to gain few quick points from futures ... This is good signs for our players that they r exposing to top talent in futures only.

OK, Jana. Yes, I was a bit unusually harsh out there - uncharacteristic for me. I was just getting very frustrated at not at all seeing what was up with the guy who was the Asian junior champion last year.

All the best to ArunPrakash. After all, his coach did show that his ideas work, when he uncorked APR out of the blue last year in June and had him surprise everybody for 7 months in the juniors before pulling him out again for most of this year. May be this would work again in the pros. I hope so.

Yes, these are only 10K futures. Pretty damn good entry list with the Japanes guys at the top. Hope Vijay gets going again!!!

Thank god ArunPrakash has finally re-emerged. Jana, we have all been bemused by his absence from the tour (especially in India) this year, so Jay was really speaking for many of us in expressing himself the way he did. ArunPrakash did play a few US Futures qualifiers, but that is the toughest way to break into the circuit. He needn't have skipped all the Satellites in India and Pakistan, the Futures in India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, etc. where he could have picked up points much more easily. Even the Thailand Futures are a tough way to get going. Better late than never, but I hope he plans the next year better...

This really is an amazingly strong field, especially for a mere $10K Futures. Very tough qualifiers, and full credit to Karan & Asutosh for qualifying in. I'm not sure Karan has such a good draw; his opponent knocked out Jaco Mathew (who has been in good form of late) in Q1.

I guess SKS decided to withdraw after a tough week last week. Not easy to fly into Thailand and play immediately. Hope he is not injured.

I suppose Arun Prakash did not go to Thailand after all?
