This is crazy. I would burst out in laughter but it is sad. The idiot who ran thought he would doble bluff and not get tested? Stupidity and hubris. Anyway, good riddance to all of these cheats.

Twenty-five athletes fail dope tests at National Games, Goa. There are nine from athletics, seven from weightlifting and two from boxing that constitute the major chunk of the cases. It is believed there could be a few more cases before this exercise is completed.
Amar Ujala broke the news. Others picked up during the course of the day and gave their own versions, some of them wrong information.
Here's the Amar Ujala link:

On another front, the "cheats" have a free run, says this report in The Hindu.
The state of Indian athletics, despite the hype is really bad. It seems without dope they can't run or jump.
Syringes and vials at athletics venues have become routine nowadays. That shows the extent of doping that goes on in the sport.

Anjali Devi banned for doping. Story Four years from July 2023. Last year she has the best time in the 400. Luckily, we had not used her for the Asian Games, where we got silver. She joins her Haryana teammate Nirmala Sheoran.

Here is an older story of her going underground since 2019 and then suddenly reappearing in 2023 to run at a stunning timing. Devi's reappearance. Now we know why.

To add to that, national superheavyweight (92kg) boxing champion Jaipal Singh was also provisionally suspended for doping. I think another Punjab boxer Kartik, who had won the previous national championships in the 86k category was also found to have used drugs and banned. BFI ban.

Simona Halep cleared to play after CAS takes nine months ban served as enough. Basically, they bought her story that it was from a supplement, which it could as well have been. I guess I have not seen all the evidence and they have. Halep cleared.

A whole bunch of athletes were caught, 9 to be precise at the National Games. A.B. Arun doped. He was the only gold medal winner (triple jump) who was caught.
The others are Goa’s Ajay Kumar (bronze in 5000 & sixth in 10,000m), Punjab’s Harjodhvir Singh (5 th in 5000m & DNF in 10,000m), Haryana’s 4x400m relay runner Parveen Kumar (team was fourth), Uttar Pradesh’s Farman Ali (seventh in 20km walk) in the men’s section and Punjab’s Kamaljeet Kaur (200m silver, 100m sixth – she was also the National Open 200m champion earlier), Gujarat’s Drashti Chaudhari (5000m bronze), UP’s Rachana (hammer throw bronze) and Kerala’s V. Neha (team won 4x100m relay silver) in the women’s section.
Apart from athletics, there were seven weightlifters who were caught.

Around 20-25 athletes caught.
The 29-year-old Vandana, from Uttar Pradesh, had won gold in the women's 76kg category in Goa with a total lift of 207kg. She is a bronze-medal winner in the 63kg category in both the 2013 and 2017 Commonwealth Championships, besides finishing fourth in the 63kg class in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Cyclist Anita Devi was handed provisional suspension by the NADA on December 6 after her urine sample collected on November 3 was found to contain the banned drug 19-Norandrosterone, an anabolic androgenic steroid. Devi was a member of the women's 4km pursuit team from Manipur that won the gold medal.

Tennis has had a lot of doping cases overturned on appeal by the CAS. I don't think that is the case for other sports. Why? Halep case fallout.
