Manika Batra has been excluded from the Indian team for the Asian TT Championships because she did not attend the mandatory camp. I never understood what these camps achieve. Manika has gone to the Delhi HC asking to be included in the team. Read more here:

Manika Batra and Archana Kamath won the doubles title at WTT Contender tournament in Lasko, Slovenia. Noticeably, they beat a Chinese pair in the SF. Also in singles Manika lost against world #11 Chinese player after a decent fight.

These are couple of articles from sportsstar which give the results and details-

They go better now.

They have reached final at this week's WTT contender tournament at Doha.

Achantha Sharath Kamal has moved into singles SF too. This guy is close to 40 now. Quite amazing that he does this well at that age.

Not quite sure. It may be possible that some of the top Chinese or other Asian pairs are not playing enough to get a high enough ranking.

This is an article on their journey-

Some really good results by our singles players at Star contender tournament in Doha.

Both Sathiyan and Manika are thru to PQF with 2 good wins.

37th ranked Sathiyan beat 57th ranked Spaniard in first round and upset 17th ranked Swede Mattias Falck in the second round.

48th ranked Manika beat 34th ranked Chinese in first round and beat 27th ranked German-Chinese in second round.

Both have so far done better than their ranking. Hope they win at least a round more.

Both lost in PQF. Sathian against world #23 Kristian Karlsson from Sweeden 1-2 and Manika against $17 German Ying Han 0-3.

Still they are showing improvement in his game.

Sathian won another match against Chen Yuanyu of China 11-9, 11-7, 12-10 to advance to QF but lost 7-11, 9-11, 5-11 against the world no. 18 Chih-Yuan against Taiwan.

Still very good run by Sathian.

This post isn’t about a current player. Admins feel free to move it if there’s a more appropriate place for it.

I never heard of Sayeeda before but her achievements are impressive.
