Surprisingly on one wrote anything on this thread even during the Sania-Ankita controversy. Not much support for the girl!!

Yes, congratulations to Ankita for winning the tile in the $10K tournament in Delhi, beating Isha easily in the final. I hope she begins travelling overseas more regularly.

In end mostly trouble in adjusting to grass court game, once her opponent found her game.

Ankita has been quite dominant over her fellow India players in last couple of years. Since 2005, she has gone 6-1 over Isha Lakhani , 4-1 over Rushmi Chakravathi & 2-0 over her sister Sanaa.

Now , she has to extend that domination against stronger foreign players & in higher level tournaments.

This thread needs to be brought up after Ankita's best ever performance in women's circuit. She finished runner up in $ 25k challenger in Lagos, Nigeria this week.

With 17 points from this week, she will move up around 100 spots from her current rankng of 507 to inside 410. She does not have too many points to defend in next 6 month. Hopefully, she will notch up more such performance to move up the rankings faster.

Ankita entered into $25,000 Mildura, AUS but is not in the main draw. I guess she withdrew.

To keep this thread updated, this week Ankita won her first title after one & half year & her seventh overall when she won the $10K title at Delhi. Importantly, she won this title in convincing fashion without dropping a set.

Hopefully, she ( & her sister Sanaa ) will play more tournaments then they have been playing in recent times in order to improve their game & rankings.
