All Indian players lost in 1st or 2nd round!!! Nobody qualifies for quarters
One correction: Abhimanyu reached quarters but lost against 2nd seed USA wrestlers

It is just first day, so we can compare after it finishes. But, yes performance is expected to be much lower than that. But, more recent was 2022 world championships where we had just 2 bronzes. So, we have already fallen from 2019 level. And after all that wrestling federation mess it would have gone down further. Also some of our better wrestlers are not playing here choosing to skip this for Asian games.

Olympics quota places are available at this event. But, looks very tough for any Indian to win a quota from here.

Link for results are available on UW website. But if that is complicated, find results on Wikipedia page for the event-

2023 world championships

You have to click on weight category to check results.

Thanks for the links Sameer. I was using 2019 just to get an idea of how we were performing in the run up to Olympic year to get an idea on where we will be at Paris. I think we can only hope for 1 medal from Antim this time. Let's see!

Yes, those 4 medals at 2019 world championships were an indication of what to expect in olympics and out of 5 medalists in 2019 world championships 2 won medals in Tokyo olympics ( Ravi Kumar and Bajrang ) and won Deepak Punia missed a medal by a few seconds. Another one, Vinesh too was expected to win a medal at Tokyo but had a surprising early loss.

Now, we are going thru transition phase in wrestling. Those medalists at those world championships- Bajrang, Ravi Dahiya , Vinesh are going thru ageing/ injury issues. Not quite sure if they will ever return to their best. And those who are young bright talents like Aman Sherawat and Antim or others who won medals at world juniors are still too inexperienced for them to get medal at the highest level as of now.

So, I do not expect much at all at this world championships- even 1 medal will be difficult. For us getting medals at Paris Olympics in wrestling, 1-2 of Bajrang-Ravi Dahiya-Vinesh have to get back to their best. Else, I do not know if Aman, Antim or other juniors can rise up to olympic medal level performance in only a year from now.

Forget about medal, the only one who came close was Abhimanu in 61 kgs who got to the bronze medal match and got beaten badly in the SF.

Today, 2 women wrestlers in non Olympics weight class also got beaten in first round, Neha in 59 kgs did get into repachages though.
