If we get the 2036 Olympics, I am sure we will have it there. But by then everybody else will be much better and we may not be the odds-on favorites anymore :(

Our mens recurve team stun Korean team which consisted of those who were part of Olympic gold medal winning team 5-1 to win gold at Shanghai world Cup.

Apart from gold, it also raises our ranking points and we are now 12 points ahead of the other teams who have not qualified yet for Paris Olympics. So, even if we fail to qualify thru final olympic qualifier, we are likely to get quota thru rankings.

Deepika Kumari won the silver in women's recurve individual. After defeating first Korean in the quarter finals, she defeated the second Korean in semis to enter the final. But lost to the third Korean in the final.

An article on Deepika's return to world cups

Also Another article on topping the selection trails for provisional list of archers for 2024 olympics.

It seems after trying out others while she was dropped/away, we have not found anyone better.

Can she get to the podium this time? I know forums answer but still can she?

Deepika did beat 2 of the 3 Koreans who will be at Paris olympics and lost to a third Korean who was Asian Games champion. This is very good considering how we have fared against Koreans in the past. Still from one tournament we cannot say she has a medal chance at Paris.

First she has to qualify which is not a given yet.

Phenomenal achievement from the men.

Dhiraj as far as qualifying rounds go is matching Deepika at her peak by consistently finishing in the top 4-5 and he will be at the Olympics.

What will Deepika’s ranking and team ranking be after this WC?

She was unranked before this World Cup. At least not in top 100. So not sure what will her ranking be. I guess she only has one shot at qualifying that is in the comming qualifier tournament. Does she need to finish in top 4?
Team ranking was 8th before this and they lost in pqf. So don't expect it to rise much

Yes, we are 8th but 5 teams above us have already qualified for Paris. After this world cup we will still remain 8th.

Our first hope is to finish among top 3 teams in the final olympic qualifier on June 15-16 which is very much possible since top teams except China have already qualified or else we hope that teams above us in rankings i.e China and Taiwan qualify at that event. Then, we have a very good chance to get one of the rankings quotas. Overall, there is a decent chance for our team to get thru for one of the five remaining spots. And once our team gets thru, 3 individual archers also qualify.

For individual qualification, Deepika needs to get into top 4 at the final olympic qualifier. But, that matters only if our team does not get thru.

Our team beat South Korea in recurve men's at the World Cup finals. Korea was more or less full strength. This should help our ranking a bit. Article

^^^ This news is posted on the same page above, Prasen.

In the latest rankings, men are #2 behind Korea. Men should qualify easily based on rankings even if they do not qualify thru final olympic qualifier.

Women are still ranked 8th, as of now they are third among non-qualified teams with Indonesia just behind them.

Nice article on preparation of Indian archery team ahead of world cup and olympics-

Olympics medal hunt: Indian archers recreate venue, sessions with top coach

Good to see a Korean coach working with the team and let us see if all these efforts finally pay off this time.

Disastrous in team eliminations though as both men and women team lost in the round of 16- men to Canada and women to Vietnam. Canada went on to win bronze, so may have hit form today and we got unlucky.

Lets see how this will affect our rankings which is our back-up for olympic qualification.
