What a day! I can't remember a day like this when Indians dominated the top of the leaderboard. Out of 6 Indians, 5 of them are in top 10 positons. Jyoti seemed optimistic before the begning of the tournament. And now it is all there to be seen.
This reminds me Arjun Atwal's first day round of -9 in the EPGA/APGA event. Arjun went on to win that. Go Jyoti! Win this tournament!

Great to see Jyoti rise to the occasion -- and how! -- on Day 1 of the Volvo Masters of Asia, which seems to be his favourite tournament. It will be perfect if Jeev can him company all the way, and we can have the two good friends/compatriots fighting it out for the title. Wonderful leaderboard to behold!!

It will be interesting to see where Simon Yates and Thongchai Jaidee finish in this tournament since they are ranked #2 and #1 in the Order of Merit. Both are tied for 18th place with a score of -2 after the first round.

So Jyoti still keep Top position with slender lead of 2 strokes over Chinese and Chinese Taipai golfer ... He has to produce another solid round to keep top position tomorrow ... Good to see Jyoti retain his lead despite a difficult second round. Sad about Jeev, although one has come to expect one bad round in every tournament from him in recent times (hopefully this will be the only bad round, and he'll climb back up the leaderboard).
I was just thinking that Indian golfers seem to do rather well in Malaysia (that's where Arjun won an EPGA tournament by fighting off a challenge from Retief Goosen!). I will in fact be playing my first game of golf in 2-3 years tomorrow in southern Malaysia (far from where these guys are slugging it out). But it would be nice to get more positive news about our guys when I return with a horrible score to the clubhouse...!

Well, I'm one of those totally inept beginners, who comes back with scores like 64 -- which sound amazing, until you realise I've played just nine holes, not 18! I just hope I don't take more strokes over 9 holes than Jyoti will take over 18...

It was a mixed day for Indians. As Vijay said that it is much more difficult to maintain the top spot. Same thing happened with Jyoti. He had such a great start but after that it became difficult to hold on to the top position. I remember PKB once saying about Jyoti that he gets overexcited and then make mistakes. Two over par 74 was definetly not a good round by Jyoti.
May be, now he can play without the pressure of holding the top spot and hopefully plays a good round. He is 3 back from the top. w would need at least -5 or better round to win.

Jeev played a wonderful round and he is in contention too. In his 3rd round he had 6 birdies and 2 bogies. If he can play a similar round leaving out the bogies, he can very well do something that he has not done for years, win a tournament. Wishing both of them good luck.

I'm quite pleased with Rahil Gangjee effort. He has played two consistent rounds of 69, the odd round being a 73 in 2nd. He is now in T15 and if he can make the top 10, it would be good acievement for him.
