Re: Sunitha Rao thread ...

It could get pretty warm and windy out there in the high desert and the ball could be flying around. I won't be surprised if the qualifiers had a much better handle on the conditions than the maind raw players. Still a bagel set lost to a qualifier is pretty bad or Sunitha. I guess she is struggling with everything, once again.

That is a good competitive match from Sunitha after quite a while. Hope she is getting into some form now. Jay

Sunitha has always been a streaky player -- has stretches where she loses to everybody and then goes on a tear winning a lot of matches. I hope the close loss indicates that she might get back to winning.

Fichman is on song this year. If Sunitha wins, I would consider it as a terrific win keeping in view her recent performances.

Another disappointment from Sunitha Rao. She lost to Natalia Ryzhinkova of Russia in the qualifying rounds of $25,000 Fort Walton Beach tournament. She lost 3-6, 7-5 6-7(2) :(

Another 1st round loss for Sunitha this week .

At $ 25k Osprey challanger, Florida, USA

[R1] Sunitha RAO (IND,260) l. Laura SIEGEMUND (GER,294) 36 36

Sunitha has not yet won a match this year & is 0-8 for the season. Sad to see see such bad run for Sunitha after having a very good first half of 2008 when she reached her career high ranking of 144.

Haven't heard from Sunitha's neurotic coach recently. Always enjoyed his incoherent rants, some of which were even aimed at supportive comments.

Let me asked again in case some of us were too busy with the happenings at the French and Wimbledon, but does anyone have news on Sunitha Rao? If she is injured, there has been no news concerning when she will return to the tour.
