Fantastic stuff from Pankaj Advani. As far as I know only Paul Mifsud has ever won both the IBSF billiards and snooker world championships (and neither of them in the same year). Terrific achievement for Pankaj, and at an incredibly young age.

And in the traditional time format, we are assured of an Indian World Champion:
Continuing their stunning domination, Indian cueists created history by securing all the four semifinal berths in the IBSF World Billiards Championship at Qawra, Malta today.
1 Geet Sethi d Alok Kumar 999-687
vs
Joshi d Mathew Bolton (Aus) 833-801.
6 Shandilya d 3 Joe Gretch (Malta 931-874)
vs
Pankaj Advani d Robby Foldvari (Aus) 1111-544

Think Pankaj has to get in here and play snooker against O'Sullivan and company. He is too good to miss out on it.

Professional snooker is a relentless world that has destroyed a few young Indians in the past. Pankaj should tread carefully, but I hope he does eventually join the pro snooker tour. He will have to have some funding to begin with, however, otherwise it could be pretty scary out there...

I think the decision of prof snooker body to not invite the IBSF snooker champion directly has made it tough for Pankaj to break in here. Else, he would have been eligible to play last year.
I still think Pankaj is special and if he gets some support, he can do well.

Pankaj Advani is stunning. He took the double, when he added to his IBSF 150 Format title by beating Geet Sethi 2242-1717, in the final of the Time Frame Format Championship.
Wonderful achievement.

YES!!!!!!!! And King of time frame format dethrone by new Prince on the block ...
Simply amazing stuff ... Beating Geet in his favourite format is great achievement ... Very Clinical process in the final ... And in that process he won matches against previous winners of this tournament ... Robby Foldvari and Ashok Shandilya.
He is definetly going to rule scene on Billiards table ... In that process he became first player to win Point and Time Frame World Championship ... First ever double ... What one can say other than ...
Jaydeep.

Anuja Thakur wins the WLBSA Ladies World Billiards Championship crown.

Anuja defeated Lynette Horsburgh of Scotland 243-136 to win Amateur Ladies World Billiards Championship.
Check the report on Rediff ...
