I am a bit confused now. Asian junior volleyball championships took place just now for bothboys & girls. Is Asian youth championships for lower age group ?

Sameer, u r right ... Junior Volleyball Championship is for national teams under 20 years and Youth Volleyball Championship is for national teams under 18 years.

The second half of the video shows the last match he played for India, the 1986 Asian games at Seoul where India bagged the bronze medal defeating Japan 3-0. One can see what an awesome player he was! It was unfortunate to lose him on 30th Nov 1987 due to an accident in Italy, where he was playing professionally. He has an indoor stadium and a junior tournament in his name in Italy, a rare honor for an Indian.

Jaipur to host senior national volleyball

In men`s section twenty five teams including defending champion Kerala and runners up Uttarakhand will be in fray while the women`s section would have 23 teams including defending champion Railways and Kerala. Almost all the star players of the country will be seen in action,"

Indian U-21 team left for the world championships in Izmer, Turkey. We are in Pool A along with Turkey, China, Egypt and Morocco. The tournament will begin from August 22nd. Go India

Phew. It seems like we got going only after losing all sets of the first match and even the first set against lowly Morocco. But, at least we moved up for now to the 3rd pace inn the 5 team group...

India won over Egypt in 4 setter. Thru to Round of 16

The score as IND d. EGY, 22-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-16.

This was a good win, as Egypt had already bbeaten China and had played pool leader Turkey very close for 2 sets. We still have China to play tomorrow, but can't fall below the 3rd place in the 5-team pool. Through to final-16.
