A couple of upsets but other than that a fairly easy ride for the seeds. Also it seems that The first round results in the Hindu were incorrect as Pallavi Sharma seems to have lost in round 2 so obviously she couldn't have lost in round 1 as well
Edit by Jay -- Well they are playing with us, Dhruv. Just got the Tuesday evening official spreadsheets and the ITF supervisor has corrected it back to Anupama. So, as always, Kamesh (trust that dude!) had it right! -- so I corrected it again
Edit By Dhruv -- Back to their old games again I see Oh well as long as it is correct finally.

Wow! .. Time to take young Madura Ranganathan also seriously. This is her biggest win. She is ONLY FOURTEEN! .. She started with a few events on the ITF junior circuit this year. Not sure what kind of game she plays, but beating Sheethal, the crafitest, most intelligent and grittiest of our domestic players, needs a lot of mental strengths - that too, winning a pressure-filled 3rd set tiebreaker. One more young girl making noise! Remember that she had won both the u14 and u16 titles at the DSCL Nationals late last year, though in the absence of Sania, Ankita, Sanaa, Tara and Kartiki .. She could be the next best at least.
That looks like a genuinely impressive win by Ankita, knowing how well Shruti has been playing at this event. Ankita was tough yesterday on Isha too... Good job.
Liza is playing with a lot more self confidence than before, it seems.
Nice solid win by Ankita! She had commented in yesterday's article in the Hindu about how she was feeling very confident -- and that obviously translated well to her performance.
It'll be really tough against Liza, but I like her chances (oh no! i'm already making predictions again!)
