Maaya has got comparatively tougher draw , where she could face 7th Seed Solar Donoso(17 years) ranked 61 (Spain) in 3rd round and 4th round(quarter finals) could be against 17 year top seed Taraba Wallberg 25th ranked Swedish player.

Let's hope Maaya can go deeper in this tournament, which could ensure main draw for Roland Garros

Link for the main draw: https://www.itftennis.com/en/tournament ... ureCode=KO
So, if Maaya makes it to the third round, she will get an opportunity to avenge her defeat last week to the same player...

At the J300 in Villena, ESP (Clay), after an R64 bye, 12th seed Maaya won the R32 today in a long MTB over 17 yr old Ruby Cooling (GBR,200), 41 14 [15-13]... She faces Lorena Solar-Donaso (ESP,61) in the PQF. They have lost almost a couple of days of play with rain or something, so PQF and QF rounds are both scheduled for Friday.

And Maaya got her revenge on the J200 loss last week to Lorena Solar-Donaso (ESP,61)... She won the PQF at the J300 5-3 4-2.

Not sure whom she is playing in the QF in the afternoon today. Probably the top seed Nellie Taraba Wallberg (SWE,25)?

Most probably top seed Nellie Taraba Wallberg or it could be
Aleksandra Pozarenko ranked 159 if she upsets top seed

Oooh, after a tough comeback fight, Maaya went down to the top seed Nellie Tabara Wallber (SWE,25), 04 54(6) [7-10]... I guess it was anybody's match in the two tie breakers where Maaya went 15-16 in points to Nellie.

The semifinalists are the top 4 seeds. All 17 and 18 year olds. Maaya is still 15.

Maaya picked up 40 more points in her point tally, and will now be ranked around #65, about 10 spots higher than #74.

^^ Does WTA rankings help her to secure French open juniors Maindraw? With rankings around 65 wouldn't be able to make it to Maindraw through juniors rankings.

If she has to come back to India for Billie Jenes cup as reserved player, mostly she would not be able to play any tournament before cut-off rankings, if I understand correctly

On the girl's side. It is a little too high in my opinion. On the boys side, top-750 in ATP will do. Manas is almost there, but needs a couple of more points from the M25s he is playing in April in Italy.

^^^It is based on girls maturing faster than boys. On the WTA tour, there are 16 players in top 400 among those 18 and under. On the ATP tour, there are only 10 players that are in top 750 that are 18 and under.

Out of those 10 players, only 4 are eligible this year to play ITF junior circuit ( born 2007 or later), others all passed 18 last year. Manas will be 5th if he makes it thru to top 750.

In WTA, there are 9 players who are eligible to play ITF juniors thru WTA ranking route as of now.

So, even with a ranking of 400, there are more WTA players eligible than ATP. So, I think it is a fair rule by ITF.

The cut-off date for French open juniors entry is 29th April. So, even if Maaya has to come back to India for BJKC cup , she will have a couple of weeks in which to try to go deep and improve her ranking. J300 in France/J200 in Italy in week of April 14 and J500 Offenbach in Germany in the week of April 21 will count for French open entries. Or if she is coming to India, she will have the option of going to J200/J300 in Malaysia in the weeks of April 15/21 and than Asian junior is April 28 ( which is after FO cut off date but will count for Wimbledon). All of those tournaments in Asia will be on hard courts though. So, they may be easier to earn points and get to top 50 but she will have lesser time to go back to Europe and adjust back to clay before French open.

I guess it all depends on if she has to come back to India for BJKC cup.

Worth noting the current WTA #6 is eligible for the juniors! Maaya is the highest ranked 15 year old in the WTA rankings!

Maaya is the entry list for J300 Plovdiv Bulgaria , starting from 8th April till 13th April and she is also in the entry list for J500 Offenbach Germany from 22nd to 27th April

^^^ Yes, she is but those are still early entry list where withdrawal deadline has not yet passed. We will know with at least reasonable assurance that she will play there when her name is still there after withdrawal deadline is over. For J300 Plovdiv Bulgaria, we should know by Tuesday night India time and for Germany the deadline is only on 8th April. She can still withdraw after withdrawal deadline but those withdrawals are fewer.

So, if Maaya is still in the entry list in Bulgaria after 2 days, we can assume that she is not coming back to India for BJKC cup which is in same week.
