Bengal Tigers appoint Colin Batch and Glenn Turner as head coaches



Well known coach Romesh Pathania, who has been roped in as the Bengal Tigers’ adviser, said apart from building a strong team the franchise would work at grooming players at the grassroots level in the state and preparing them to play in the league and the country in future.

I wonder whether we need a separate thread for this team. Bengal used to have a fine hockey tradition, including the likes of Leslie Claudius and Keshav Dutt. But since 1972 -- when the Olympic bronze medal winning side had two Kolkata players, Vece Paes and Gurbux Singh -- Kolkata's hockey tradition has largely faded.
