I keep thinking that he and Ebden may not keep going for too long, but they seem to have other ideas! Bops :notworthy:

What are the odds that Bopanna will still be playing doubles professionally when he is 74? Are they takng bets on that? Or triples if you will with players allowed to use a cane in one hand and racquet in the other. 3 legs therefore triples.

LP went up to what? 47? So, Bopanna is shooting for 50, with modern fitness and care regimens?

LP went on till just before he turned 47 but after around 42, he started going down and he was ranked outside top 50 in last 3-4 years whereas Rohan is actually going up and up even as he turned 44.

True. Thanks for pointing that out. Maybe their styles. RB is stronger and has a bigger serve, I think. That skill perhaps ages better?

Yes, maybe and Rohan actually looked to be going down till a couple of years back and than miraculously recovered and went to a level where he was not there even when he was younger.

They are playing second seeds in the final.

[F] (1) Rohan Bopanna (IND) / Matthew Ebden (AUS) vs. (2) Ivan Dodig (CRO) / Austin Krajicek (USA)

Damn, Bops and Ebden had 3 set points on Ebden serve at 6-5, 40-15 but Ebden served 2 double faults to lose serve. Than, in tie break Rohan served 3 doubles faults and the set lost 67(3) from a winning position. :-(

And they come back and win it.

[F] (1) Rohan Bopanna (IND) / Matthew Ebden (AUS) d. (2) Ivan Dodig (CRO) / Austin Krajicek (USA) 67(3) 63 10-6

This is 6th ATP Masters title for Bops. They started their run with Indian Wells title last year. Lost early in Indian Wells this year but won Miami to get back those points.

Congrats to Rohan! It is pretty amazing that he is actually having his best results at this age. Most players who do well at older ages are generally at their peaks earlier and extend that run as they get older. Rohan actually seems to better now than he's ever been. Good luck to him!

Unbelievable. Saw highlights of the game. They have a good pair. They would do well if they keep playing.

What a Win by RB/ME..had three Set Points in the 1St Set, Lost them,Other teams probably wouldn't have had the Mentality for A Comeback Losing Multiple Set Points & The Set. Regrouped & took the match in the 3Rd Set.STB...

.There Certainly was Tension in The Air in the STB..with Double Faults Creeping in..RB/ME however prevailed Knowing the Importance of the Situation ..Along with their Skills.. :-)

Another Feather in the Cap for Rohan Bopanna.. :notworthy:
Breaking his own records,As Probably not one is Even near to breaking them .Now He is the Oldest Masters Champion at 44Yrs &26Days & Also the Oldest No 1 In MD . :notworthy: :bounce:
