SatChi win the final 21-11 21-17 to win the title in French open. Absolutely dominant title win by them not losing a game this week.

SatChi are now probably our joint best medal hopes along with Neeraj Chopra for Paris Olympics.

Terrible day at All England. Prannoy again lost in the first round, to #32 Taiwanese player. Treesa/Gayatri weren't able to put much of a fight either to #9 pair. PVS won after her opponent retired. Srikanth and Aakarshi lost easily.

2024 All England Open

[R1] Lakshya Sen beats #33 M. Johannessen 21-14, 21-14.

Next up, a tough challenge against red hot #3 Antonsen who is 17-1 in 2024. Also leads Lakshya 3-1 in head-to-head. :goodluck:

Good news for Lakshya is that #13,14, 17-19 in Race to Paris are also out. Only #16 Weng who is right behind #15 Laskhya is still there but he is up against #1 Axelson.

Much better day for us.

As arjun mentioned, Lakshya made the most of the easy draw by beating #33.

SatChi continued their good form and beat the aging Indonesian "daddies" pair #14 comfortably. Next up is another Indonesian pair #9 who SatChi beat comfortably in Jan but lost to twice in 2023.

Tanisha/Ashwini beat #18 pair comfortably. Next up for them is #6 Chinese pair. Tanisha/Ashwini are better than Treesa/Gayatri at beating pairs around them and worse against the top-10 pairs. Hopefully they can change that tomorrow.

Outside of Sathish Kumar KARUNAKARAN, everyone else had a bad day at the Orleans Masters. Let's see how he does, he has been having a good run in both singles and mixed doubles.

Lakshya is now #14 in live rankings in race to Paris. A win today which is tough against an in-form Atnonsen will take him to #13. He will now need to be overtaken by 3 players to be displaced outside top 16. This week most of those below him have already lost and after this only big tournament left before cutoff date is Asian Individuals championships. Rest are 300 level where even a title will not be enough for them to overtake Lakshya. So, I think Lakshya more or less assured now for Paris.

Same with Ashwini-Tanisha. They are now #11 in those who are eligible for Paris considering the 2 pairs and 1 pair per nation criteria and way ahead of Tresa-Gayatri. Almost thru.

Watching Lakshya Sen play against Antonsen. He seems to be physically drained to me. Does not appear to be fit enough to last 3 games against top players. Is he coming out of some sort of injury?

^^^ Dont think so. Maybe a little drained by his efforts of last week where he went 3 games in each of his 4 matches.

Suddenly it seems he got his second wind. From 2-8 it is now 13-13. Can he sustain that?

Wow, what a comeback from Lakshya. Looked down and out at 2-8 and than 5-11 in the decider but comes back and wins 24-22, 11-21, 21-14.

And Laskhya is now #13 in Road to Paris live rankings. A win in QF will take him past Loh Kean Yew to #12.

Ashwini-Tanisha started well winning the first game 21-11 against 5th ranked Chinese pair but later faded away losing the next 2 games 11-21, 11-21.

Satvik and chirag lost in straight games. I thought they had a good chance at winning this :-(

Not a good week for us at All-England. Tame losses for SatChi and PVS and HSP again lost in the 1st round.

Hopefully Lakshya can pull off another win against #10 LZJ.

Mens doubles appears even more random than mens singles.

In mens singles at least the top 2 seeds are still there in the QF. In mens doubles, top 4 seeds are all out before QF.

In womens singles, amazingly top 8 seeds are all thru to the QF. Last week top 4 seeds were all in SF. It is so predictable. So, Sindhu really starts to win some matches against top 4 to have a chance of a shot at medal for Paris.

For SatChi and Prannoy/Lakhsya it is all about having 1 great week and they could be in with a chance.
