Re: WTA Mumbai Open 125 February 2024
Adkar is lucky to get this wildcard being a local? Vaidehi and Shrivalli will have a tough task to qualify for main draw but perhaps the qualifying field isn’t as tough as the MD, here’s hoping.

Re: WTA Mumbai Open 125 February 2024
Excellent upset win by Shrivalli. Best win of her career thus far.
Now Zeel takes the first set 6-2 against 7th seed Sapfo Sakellearidi. Can we get one more upset ?

Re: WTA Mumbai Open 125 February 2024
Let us hope for at least one of them to make it to the main draw. That would be so unexpected.

[R1] (WC) Sahaja Yamlapalli (IND,335) vs.. (1) Kayla Day (USA,92)
[R1] (WC) Ankita Raina (IND,225) vs. (8) Katie Volynets (USA,125)
[R1] (WC) Rutuja Bhosale (IND,348) vs. (Q) Peangtarn Plipuech (THA,477)
[R1] (WC) Vaishnavi Adkar (IND,858) vs. (Q) Himeno Sakatsume (JPN,179)
[R1] (Q) ] Shrivalli Bhamidipaty (IND,521) vs. (2) Nao Hibino (JPN,94)
Can Rutuja ( who is the only playing lower ranked player) win and hoping for 1 more upset although these are all very tough match-ups,

Re: WTA Mumbai Open 125 February 2024
I guess she has to keep mixing it up. Play lower level tournaments were she should dominate. And then play these tournaments where once in while, she gets an easy draw to move up.
Unfortunately none of these players really dominate 25k/50k challengers. So I guess 125k tournaments are only for exposure and experience.
