Where is the Mumbai tournament being held? Same old CCI or Navi Mumbai?

Looks like this at MSLTA courts in Colaba.

At Navi Mumbai, there is W40 ( Womens) in last week of December.

Sure, on weekdays looks tough. Maybe over next weekend if Indian players are there in the SF or F.

Ya ya. Same plan. Only on weekends. Only if we have someone in the sf or finals

Aryan Shah is in the qualifying draw. Nice. Wish Yuvan had played too.

Indians were seeded 3rd through 8th in the qualies (the top seed was from USA and 2nd from Japan). All the seeds won, except Rishi Reddy at #7 - he was upset by 15th seed Aryan Shah, 64 75. Good to see Aryan making the main draw. Aryan had beaten another decent player Arjun Mahadevan in straight sets in the Q1 too. Here is the qualifying draw/results from ITF.

In the main draw, RamK is the third seed, Sid Rawat the 6th seed and SDPD is the 7th seed. Not an easy event, with 13 foreigners from RUS, GER, UKR, JPN, AUT, KOR and USA out there in Mumbai. Here is the main draw / results from ITF...

One big upset today though! Sid V upset the 4th seed Orlov 76(2) 63

Evgeny Donskoy (RUS/1) d. Taisei Ichikawa (JPN) 63 67(6) 64
Aryan Shah (IND/Q) d. Koki Matsuda (JPN) 63 75
Harrison Adams (USA/Q) d. Karan Singh (IND) 64 36 61
David Pichler (AUT/8) d. Sarthak Suden (IND/wc) 62 60

Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND) d. Vladyslav Orlov (UKR/4) 76(2) 63
Ryotaro Taguchi (JPN/Q) d. Bharath Nishok Kumaran (IND/Q) 63 62
Raghav Jaisinghani (IND/wc) d. Rohan Mehra (IND/Q) 46 76(4) 60
Sidharth Rawat (IND/6) d. Nitin Kumar Sinha (IND) 75 63

Ryuki Matsuda (JPN/5) d. Kabir Hans (IND/Q) 76(3) 62
Yunseok Jang (KOR) d. Sandesh Dattatray Kurale (IND/wc) 60 62
Dev Javia (IND) d. Parth Aggarwal (IND/wc) 61 57 63
Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND/3) d. Madhwin Kamath (IND/Q) 64 62

S D Prajwal Dev (IND/7) d. Manish Sureshkumar (IND) 62 64
Siddhant Banthia (IND) d. Kazuma Kawachi (JPN) 36 76(5) 61
Yuichiro Inui (JPN) d. Shivank Bhatnagar (IND/Q) 62 61
Louis Wessels (GER/2) d. Seita Watanabe (JPN) 64 75

8 Indians in last 16. 3 all Indian matches mean at least 3 Indians will be in the QF. Hope SidV can follow up on his upset win to get 4 Indians in QF. Aryan has a tough task against top seed Donskoy.

So today's R2 matches will be:

1-Evgeny Donskoy (RUS, 263; CH 65) vs Q-Aryan Shah (IND, 1966) - very good to see the 17 year old make R2
Harrison Adams (USA) vs 8-David Pichler (AUT)

Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND, 874) vs. Q-Ryotaro Taguchi (JPN, 1149)
WC-Raghav Jaisinghani (IND, 1343) vs. 6-Sidharth Rawat (IND, 626)

Ryuki Matsuda (JPN) vs. Yunseok Jang (KOR)
3-Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND, 642) vs. Dev Javia (IND, 1468)

7-SD Prajwal Dev (IND, 616) vs. Siddhant Banthia (IND, 1038)
2-Louis Wessels (GER) vs. Yuichiro Inui (JPN)

R2 (last 16) singles results at the M25 in Mumbai:

1-Evgeny Donskoy (RUS, 263; CH 65) d. Q-Aryan Shah (IND, 1966) 62 62
Harrison Adams (USA) d. 8-David Pichler (AUT) 63 64

Siddharth Vishwakarma (IND, 874) d. Q-Ryotaro Taguchi (JPN, 1149) 67(2) 76(3) 62
WC-Raghav Jaisinghani (IND, 1343) l. 6-Sidharth Rawat (IND, 626) 26 26

Ryuki Matsuda (JPN, 573) d. Yunseok Jang (KOR) 63 63
3-Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND, 642) d. Dev Javia (IND, 1468) 63 64

So, four Indians in the QF, two of whom play each other (ensuring that there will be at least one Indian, named Siddhart -- albeit not spelt that way) in the SF.

Doubles SFs later today are 1-Ramkumar/Raja vs Taguchi/Matsuda, and 2-Dev/Sinha vs Adams/Orlov.

Adams seems to be having one of the best tournaments of his career here, quite unexpectedly.

Ramkumar got broken soon after I posted that update. It's onto the final set now:

[QF] 3-Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND, 642) d. 5-Ryuki Matsuda (JPN, 573) 76(6) 36 75

1-1 final set. Ramkumar is seeded higher but is ranked lower :-~ Would it be an upset if he loses? Absolutely, it would be, given his much higher career-high ranking.

Update: Ramkumar forges ahead in the final set, with a break of serve. He leads 4-2 in the final set now. BUT, it is 0-40 on his serve now, so danger lurks. Ramkumar took it to 30-40, but was broken. So it is 3-4 for Matsuda, who is serving to get even again :frown:

Update: 5-5 in the final set. Ramkumar holds at 30 to make it 6-5. Matsuda goes 40-0 on his serve. Ramkumar claws it back to Deuce, forces a break point, and BREAKS to win the match! 7-5 in the third.
