I read that Humpy has a good chance to get thru ranking spot.

Btw, do we need to have separate thread for candidates- men and women. Will they be played out at same place concurrently. In that case, we should have a common thread as we have for some tennis tournaments held at same place at same time.

Almost nil!!! Anish giri has taken very high lead.... Especially after finishing in top 8 in fide Grand Swiss( because it has very high average elo rating)

World ranking at the end of December where main competition is among Firouza, Wesley, Dominguez, Richard Rapport, Duda and Magsoodloo!!!

Saffron, when you insert an image, try replacing the "size" item in the img tag to "size=small" if the image fills up the whole post or screen. Often it makes the post a bit more readable. I edited the images above. Mod, Jay

I tried too but failed so currently inserting image from my laptop!!! If somebody knows, then please tell me too!

It’s not about the phone vs. laptop. I see in the code that all your images are a weblink. Did you ever insert a picture from your photo library? It seems if there is no forum folder where the image resides, naturally there is no way to link a photo on your phone/laptop. I have the same trouble with tables, but I think that is something I could figure out. The photo issue has been bugging me for many years.

sameer - there is no men's section. There is open section and women's only section.

Humpy will get the rating spot unless Hou Yifan decides to make a comeback.

As for Gukesh and Arjun, they have no chance unless India can somehow organize a super GM tournament for them in December on short notice. Unfortunately we are not very creative like that - China did something similar for Ding in the previous Candidates cycle.
