Surprising that Prannoy doesn't have a thread. His Thomas Cup heroics were stuff of legend no less than that of LP in Davis Cup. Do we have threads for Srikanth and Lakshya Sen? Both of them and probably Sai Praneeth also deserve a thread (Sai Praneeth has a Singapore Open title a pretty decent level tournament and a world championship bronze).

Unnati Hooda just rocketed up 50 spots, hitting a career-high rank of 102 from her previous position at 152!

She is playing Infosys India International Challenge this week.

16 year old Unnati Hooda won Chhattisgarh India International Challenge 2023. She thrashed 72-ranked Tasnim Mir 21-18, 21-10 in the finals. Her 2nd title in 3 weeks. She will now reach top 75 in bwf rankings. By far the biggest prospect in Indian WS. She will now play Petronas Malaysia International Challenge starting from 14th November.

Unnati Hooda has emerged victorious against WR-38 and India's #2 player, Aakarshi Kashyap, in a compelling three-set match in Ro32 in Syed Modi International Super 300. Now, she will face former world champion Nozomi Okuhara in Ro16.

Unnati lost easily in R2. If we are going to make posts for individual players winning one round, we should also add when they lose in the next.

And we need to tamper our expectations regarding Unnati ( I am talking of her being proclaimed as olympic medalist in 2028) till she does something worth of that level. In world junior championships in both 2022 and 2023, she did not even reach QF. As of now she is not at the same level that Saina and Sindhu ( who were our individual olympic medalists) were at same age.

Fair. Too much pressure for her to play against the former world champion.

I agree with you. She ain't Saina/Sindhu, but she is the best we have got after Sindhu/Saina. She already beats all the Indian WS senior to her regularly now. She can still play 2 more WJC so she will probably win a medal there.
