Oh, I missed the continental quota spot part, So, Ashwini/Tanisha just about in now. Only one of the 2 Indian pairs can qualify right unless both go into top 8 which seems impossible right now. So, it will be tight race between these 2 as well as against some other pairs in the vicinity,Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Sun Dec 17, 2023 8:48 pm
Only 16 pairs in the Olympics and the lower-ranked Canadian and the Australian pairs will get the continental quota spot.
You can see the current rankings here

After this week, they will go past the Bulgarian pair and be in a qualification spot but it is all very tight. Both Ashwini/Tanisha and Treesa/Gayatri will need good results in the first few months of 2024 to qualify.

Re: BWF tournaments Oct/Nov 2023
Each of the five continental zones must enter at least one player in the singles tournament and a pair in the doubles under the rules and regulations of the BWF Continental Representation Place system.
So Africa should get one quota spot. Not sure why tournamentsoftware is ignoring the 66th ranked South African pair as the African quota spot.

What about quota for Africa?

I believe the pair has to be in the top 50 to get the continental quota spot. In singles, they only have to be in the top 250.
