Canada expels Indian diplomats
Canada expels Indian diplomat as Trudeau blames New Delhi for 'killing' of wanted Khalistani terrorist
In the Canadian Parliament, Canadian PM Trudeau said that his national security officials had reason to believe that the "agents of the Indian government" were behind the killing of Nijjar, who was gunned down outside a gurdwara in Canada's Surrey on June 18."Canadian security agencies have been actively pursuing credible allegations of a potential link between agents of the Government of India," Trudeau said in the House of Commons and referred to Nijjar simply as a "Canadian citizen", CBC News reported."Any involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a Canadian citizen on Canadian soil is an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty. It is contrary to the fundamental rules by which free, open and democratic societies conduct themselves," he said.

What's with this Khalistan movement.....such huge opportunity in India to grow and develop. Why waste time on such ideologies that have no relevance today?

Re: Canada expels Indian diplomats
An unpopular opinion: The current khalistan movement is mostly online and outside India, is being run by CIA to pressurise India... Countries like Canada, Uk, Australia ( where the movement is being run) are essentially client states of USA.
We shouldn't forget India was an USSR-ally before 1990s.. And USA had every reason to support succession in India at that time.
Today, we have AAP government in Punjab which has pro- khalistani roots ( in fact, they lost assembly election in 2017 due to their soft support towards khalistani leaders which led to consolidation of Hindu votes towards captain Amrinder Singh of Congress)....They have not say a single word on this development...People from Punjab can confirm that the pro-khalistan activities have increased since AAP come in power!!!!

Freedom movements often are about identity first and not economic. That is, I would rather be free and poor than subjugated and rich. So the economic logic does not work in these emotional arguments. The subjugation part is believed by a small fraction of Sikhs.

For running a movement, you need funding and economic support for those who are waging a war against state.... The economic aspect can never be underestimated...... Pakistan is a bankrupt state......Guess who can provide economic support aka funding to these succession movements?prasen9 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 3:49 pmFreedom movements often are about identity first and not economic. Well said. Hope these continue to be restricted to a small few only.prasen9 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 3:49 pmFreedom movements often are about identity first and not economic. Re: Canada expels Indian diplomats
The Khalistani movement has support from Sikhs in U.S., Britain, and Canada, who bankroll their efforts. I do not know if they get money from any state.Saffron Lenin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 19, 2023 4:11 pm For running a movement, you need funding and economic support for those who are waging a war against state.... Re: Canada expels Indian diplomats
This is the reason i have been mentioning that some of the democracies can also behave rogue. Foreign govt interference in elections and domestic affairs etc was not limited to autocratic or dictatorial governments. US intelligence agency CIA's involvement has a long history in multiple coups, assassinations in several nations across globe. So its troubling to see India being mentioned in the same vein as the new kid in the block.
To give credibility to these accusations, indeed there has been a recent spurt in the number of Khalistani activists killings in Canada, UK and Pakistan from June. Most of these have been labelled as "mysterious" so far by the respective governments due to lack of concrete evidence.
In spite of his political compulsions of minority government needing support of Khalistanis, Trudeau going public about suspected involvement of India without forensic evidence is surprising. I think he should have waited until some concrete evidence emerged to accuse India and just should have prioritized the police investigation until then.

To believe they are not getting money from any state, is quite naive!!!I do not know if they get money from any state.
To run a succession movement, you need not only money but also intelligence network!! You need motivated groups of people who are ready to do bomb blasts, assassinations etc... It takes a lot of effort to groom such people. No ordinary person can do such thing on its own.

India suspends visa services for Canadians amid heightened tensions
The suspension followed India’s advisory on Wednesday asking its citizens in Canada to exercise utmost caution due to growing anti-India activities and “politically-condoned hate crimes”. Indian students have particularly been advised to exercise extreme caution and remain vigilant.

Happy to be educated. Please provide me any proof, evidence, reasonably sourced mainstream articles of what you have so that I can find out who is funding them. One can make up anything. If you are making up stuff, one can say anything. Not interested in conspiracy theories.Saffron Lenin wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 11:04 am To believe they are not getting money from any state, is quite naive!!!
