Captain Savita thrilled to host Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2023 in India

Indian women's hockey captain Savita is thrilled to play hosts to the upcoming Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2023, which is set to be held in Ranchi, Jarkhand from October 27 to November 5.

The seventh edition of the tournament, in which Japan, Korea, China, Malaysia, Thailand, and hosts India are expected to participate, holds a special place for the Indian team as they get to play in front of their home fans.

Hockey India on Tuesday (September 12) announced the schedule for the upcoming Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2023, which will take place at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf hockey stadium in Ranchi from October 27 to November 5.

India wins first two matches of the tournament.... In first match against Thailand, India wins 7-1 and in second match against Malaysia, India wins 5-0!!

We beat China 2-1 yesterday and Japan 2-1 today and are at the top of the table with 4 out of 4 wins.

We are at 12 points, Japan at 9, Korea 7 and China 6 with 1 round of matches left. India play Korea, China play Japan. All 4 teams are in SF. The match-ups will be decided after next round of matches on Thursday.

did China send their 2nd rung players for this championship? if they haven't, from 0-4 drubbing @ Asian games to 2-1 now is good turn around!

I read China has changed 5-6 players from their team from Asian games, so may be not the second team but slightly weakened team, but anyway that 0-4 score line in AG was bit of a misnomer. I think we were down 0-2 for a long time and last 2 goals were conceded in last few minutes. We are more or less equal team compared to China.

Today, we thrashed Korea 5-0 to complete 5 out of 5 wins at group stage and finished top of the table. Now, we again play Korea in the SF.
