Did you not recognize who the other coach was? It is Guru Sai dutt (Srikanth and Prannoy senior at Gopi's academy.) They were telling him "Ekkada kottalo akkada kottu" roughly translated as "Smash it where ever it is the right place"...it was more of pep talk that helped him to take into the zone you mentioned :)

BTW, i am not sure why Axelsen and his coach were not conversing in Danish but in English. One more observation i think the tape that Prannoy was wearing to his non playing hand seems to hold some medical instrument...sugar level indicator for diabetics or heart rate monitor. Any one knows what it is?

Yes, I can. I think badminton is the most exciting sport to watch. Nothing comes even close. Maybe diving. Thanks so much for the link, Srini.

Loat the third game 14=21. Prannoy looked a lot tired in third game.

2 draining matches and wins against 2 former world champions in last 2 rounds took it's toll. He just could not play at then fast pace which which we he won the first game in the second and third game.

Still, a great performance which saved our medal streak when least expected.

Now, go and get that olympic medal next year which he looks capable of now.

Yes Prannoy ensured a 12 year streak of returning with atleast a medal at WC continues. Two difficult matches back to back with potential gold medal contenders leaves him drained physically and mentally. One more thing to note is Prannoy keeps getting better if he keeps playing against the same opponents in a way similar to AI works better with more data. He had not played much with Kunlavut of Thailand. He has played just 2 matches with him so far where as he played 7 with Axelsen. He whispered something into Kunlavut's ears after macth (most possibly he uttered "I will be BACK!")
