Meanwhile, Belgium is destroying Germany!!! It's 4-0 and Q3 I going on!!!
Re: 2023 Women's Hockey Junior World Cup, Chile
I watched the 2nd half v Canada. We passed the ball brilliantly. No silly dribbles and excellent decision making once inside the D. However, Canada were terrible, so I wouldn't read too much into this result, except it may help us with GD.
Belgium destroyed Germany 6-0. We will struggle against both of these teams because they will be quicker than us and much stronger physically.

I watched all the matches yesterday!!! Team Australia, Netherlands, Belgium and India seems to me the team of the tournament!!!!
Argentina team is not that good this time, Spain was very error prone.......Germany vs India is going to be very important match tonight!!!!

Another match of our group: Belgium defeated Canada 8-0!!!! Now we need to defeat or at least draw with Germany
Re: 2023 Women's Hockey Junior World Cup, Chile
We lost to Germany. I totally expected that. We need to beat Belgium for a QF place. Can't see that happening after how they destroyed Germany yesterday.

Re: 2023 Women's Hockey Junior World Cup, Chile
From an article I read, we were leading 2-0 and than 3-2 and lost due to lapses in holding ball possession. That is something which is happens a lot with Indian junior and also senior teams and something for coaches to work on if we have to consistently do well.
Did we get a rough draw ? As per FIH womens rankings, Belgium and Germany are ranked 4th and 5th respectively. Not sure about their junior strengths or is there any junior world rankings but getting them both in our group looks unlucky.

Re: 2023 Women's Hockey Junior World Cup, Chile
FIH ranking for juniors is a bit unreliable as there are such few pointers to form. The continental championships are the only source, I think.
Yes, that's so true. All bullsh*t talk of 'rectifying our mistakes' and 'leaving no stone unturned' etc....then we go and do the same silly things. Getting yellow cards for the most stupid, pointless tackles near the half way line!by Atithee Β» Fri Dec 01, 2023 4:39 am
The more the players and captains yakk before the tournaments the more likely are these disasters. All the camps and coaching is a farce.

Will be great if you put a bit more details. We came back from 0-2 down to get it to 2-2 but lost 2-3.
So, that Germany loss hurt us. Last year we had finished 4th and had beaten Germany 2-1 at group stage. So, this year's team seems to be not as good as last year's.

Last time, we had Salima Tete, Lalremsiami, Baljeet Kaur, Sharmeela Devi in junior team - all of them now in senior set up now!!!sameerph wrote: βSun Dec 03, 2023 7:00 am Will be great if you put a bit more details. We came back from 0-2 down to get it to 2-2 but lost 2-3.
